Forums - Music Discussion - Should I move to NYC and start a band?

Hey guys,

Last year, I went through a near death experience. I recovered but I realized that life is too short. I am about to graduate college either this semester or next one and I am thinking that I should just go ahead and start a band. I love music and I had been planning on doing it. My mind is like, "What the hell" I might as well give it a shot. I am in my early 20's.

What do you think?

No. NYC is expensive as hell, and frankly, how are you suppose to find people anyway? I get that you're young, but you need to understand that if this doesn't work, what are you going to do? Look, I never stop people to persue their dreams, and if you believe it can happen, go for it. But you need to have a backup plan in case it doesn't work.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

No.I mean, do try to set up a band, at the very least as just a hobby. It will most likely be a refreshing and exciting experience. But dont leave it all behind just for that.I mean, why move to New York just to set up a band?

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

I'd have to hear the music to judge...

Your life, your future, your dream. If it's really what you want to do, go for it.

You're probably going to end up living in a home you don't exactly like in NYC, though. And starting a band isn't exactly easy. So just know what you're walking into beforehand.
