Forums - Gaming Discussion - VGC Ecosystem: Xbox Fanbase is endangered | Nintendo over doubles Sony in threads

I've said it before and I'll say it again. There are a lot more than "roughly 5-7" PC users on VGC. Just looking at my friend list on Steam, I found 10 VGC users that own over 100 games on Steam. 7 owned less than 100, of which 5 owned 50+. One of the two left was Vivster, a known PC guy.

Just because people don't participate in all PC discussion does not mean they aren't PC gamers.

How many on here *main* a PC and not a console?, that's what I was reffering to, the people that actively participate in the main PC thread for the most part game on their PC than their other systems or own more for that platform.

Well then why isn't there more PC discussion if there are that many users? (inb4 "they don't care about PC", then why have PC on here at all?)

Primary PC, secondary PS4.  Spend way, way, way more time on PC than console.

Bolded: Because I come here for console news/discussion, I've other sources for PC discussion

What does it matter what they "main"? If you have several dozens or even hundreds of games on Steam, it's pretty goddamn obvious that you are a "PC user".

I mean, even many of the "known" PC users participate much more in console discussion that PC discussion, like Basil and Vivster. Are they not part of the PC fanbase on VGC?

Its MSs fault. They deserve to lose members cause they tried to pull one on their fanbase and lost many fans. The only reason i still xbox is Halo. Since im a huge Halo fan i buy an xb1 and get interested in its other games and buy them also.

I updated my post above with a gif that sums up the "what does it matter", if you've ever seen that film then you would know. You'd also know about the last time you and me talked of this with the whole book club, movie person etc.

Basil is always on the main PC thread as well as others and talks to us almost daily, I haven't seen others do any of that besides the ones I already know.

it's like you're trying to say there is a massive PC community that at the same time does noit even represent the platform nor show an interest in it at the same time, it's almost like we're talking of Schrodinger's cat.

What I'm trying to say is that while people don't actively discuss PC things a lot, they still game a frikkin lot on PC. The PC community on VGC isn't big, because while people might game a lot on PC, this is a console focused forum, by virtue of its original main goal, ie. tracking sales in the console market. Thus discussion will be centered around consoles. However PC gamers on VGC are numerous.

I was talking in general with being active within that community. Not just popping up once a blue moon to say you are a part of a group and then go back to doing nothing with said group.

It being a console *based* forum hasn't stopped the few of us from being active or making PC related topics, what's stopping this big group I've not seen or heard much of?. Could it be ebcause they aren't as interested in that part of the community?. Would that be the biggest shocker to you?.

Smeags (come back already) greatest games yearly event shows clearly Nintendo is by far the one with the most active users here.
Sony may have the most lurkers or casual posters, but Nintendo has the most threads and active users here.
Most of the popular people on this site are tied to Nintendo as well, as you can see most people who strictly post on Sony or XBOX threads don't go far away on the greatest users event as well but strictly Nintendo poster goes, the community rounds amout Nintendo here, not Sony.

Factions that voted for Nintendo games: Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft.
Factions that voted for Sony games: Sony.
Factions that voted for Microsoft: Microsoft.

That's why Nintendo games dominate. I've explained this to you before. Of course, it also helps that Nintendo fans are more likely than anyone else to participate in such voting events, because they didn't join first and foremost for console wars. Additionally, a look at historic sales data also shows that Nintendo dominates. Is it really surprising that the publisher who made the most all-time greats by far handily wins in a popularity contest?

As for the greatest users, the people who make it far aren't voted for by only one faction. I suppose that means that Sony fans aren't exactly popular, even among Sony fans.

It could be just that we are the quiet and unassuming types, I thought most people from all sides joined because of sales and the wars was more to do with peoples tendencies toward tribalism . still  it looks on the surface that those who didn't join first and foremost  for console wars are going by your faction voting list the least likely to acknowledge any other base, though that could be wrong since  I'm not to sure what info you used to break down the voting patterns .

The persons popularity on here seems more to do with being vocal and active rather than who's side your on.

I doubt most Xbox fans left because of that.  They left once ps4 started dominating.  I remember the user sales1099.  He was very active defending 360 until the new gen came over.  All of a sudden, he left.  He even said in one of his latest comments that he is waiting for the new gen hoping Xbox will get most of the glory back.  Same with other Xbox fans that were very active until new gen started

Well its good that they left. Honestly leaving because your console of choice isn't winning is laughable.

Edit- I also noticed xb1gates hasn't been active in the last few week.s

Nice analysis, Ice.

You're completely right, we need more diversity. I've been trying to spread this lately, but I guess it really depends on the interest of Xbox fans. But I'm sure we can do some things to improve the background for them, we just have to figure out how. I'd like to discuss this with all kinds of members and see if we can come up with something.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won
