Not sure where you're getting that from because I've certainly haven't said that.
1. I'd never force people to like something, that goes against the whole diversity thing in my OP
2. I'm not expecting negative opinions to be changed, I know this is shocking but I have negative opinions about Xbox-related stuff and I'm not going to stop posting about them. It's about HOW you voice your opinion. If you're doing borderline flaming threads when you have a history of trolling Xbox then you're the person I'm talking about. context is important.
Mod team has banned a lot of the bad apples, and I'm thankful for that.

As far as I'm aware, trolling is against forum rules. So, that's on the mod team. The borderline flaming threads and comments are something that annoy fans of all hardware, certainly isn't restricted to just the Xbox community.

Would be intetesting to see how this would work, You would have to tackle three main problems, those being; How do you get people who have an Xbox talk about Xbox when they dont because they fear they're opinions being ridiculed? How do you get a large influx of Xbox discussion when is clear that the majority of users dont own one? Finally, how do you get the Xbox community to post outside of XBR, when similar to question 1, they dont feel secure enough on this site to do so? Its easy to look at Xbox nation threads as a problem but when in reality theyre one of the reason - if not the main reason - why theres an Xbox community left at all on this site

Well, let's see...
How do you get people who have an Xbox talk about Xbox when they dont because they fear they're opinions being ridiculed?
They could not give a fuck on Thursdays. No one forces you to reply to people, and besides, we're supposedly supportive of Xbox opinions the mentioned day, right? If someone goes after an Xbox poster, we could "attack" (no personal jabs of course) his wall with a shit ton of Xbox gifs.
We could also ask Rol to find us some bodyguards, like he did with Tbone!
How do you get a large influx of Xbox discussion when is clear that the majority of users dont own one?
Create worthwile thread(s) the aforemented day. We would have one entire week to recollect info and make this happen. Of course discussion isn't going to create by itself.
I've been posting outside of XBR and so far I'm still alive. Man up! What kind of wussies are we to be hiding behind one specific thread? If things go wrong and we get banned, well, then so be it. One or two bans won't kill us, will them? The problem with your scenario is that Xbox fans should be afraid of posting in the first place, which is then something that cannot be helped unless you can get over that insecurity. Worst-case scenario: permaban (but why would you get permabanned just for talking about Xbox?). Wait a few months and ask Miguel to allow you back. If he doesn't want to, we'll bomb his wall with Xbox gifs as well.
We'd be like the Musketeers. A few bunch, but you know the rule!

Sadly the X1 fans did not venture out of their empire to discuss them not venturing out of their empire.... sad panda! But yeah I personally don't like those PS4/Vita/X1/PC only threads that go on for 1000+ pages, they are rather ummm... not sure what the word would be, intimidating I guess, to jump into and say stuff in a thread which has gone on so long, and most of the time if I'm going to jump into a thread I like to read over it to make sure I'm not posting something that was already said if possible..... that is not possible if a thread is going for a few years lol. I can understand the draw of it tho, I would think if those threads are just the users of that particular brand then they won't have shitty trolls going there complaining about how they don't like some feature of PSN+ or XBLG while clearly having a sig which suggests they are a massive fan of the rival brand anyway and they are just feigning being upset for the sake of trying to draw a rise from fans of the service, see that a bit, tis boring to read. |
Agreed. Personally, I am not a big fan of mamoth threads, if there's any real discussion to be had in the thread it's just overwhelming IMO.

When Jay used to run the Xbox one he would keep the OP up to date some times with the deals with gold and stuff but now more often than not the OP is left alone for weeks and months in a lot of those threads, I used to just pop into the Xbox one to read what games were coming up for free on XBLgold but now just opt for a google search rather than reading through the last 20 pages of specific brand/console... I fucking hate the term completely, but circle jerking is the shortest way I could describe how I see those giant 1 brand/console threads.
- Just to clarify I just mean those threads in general and not the Xbox empire in the slightest as the only one which is like that in my eyes, just that if a game is worth chatting about on your system of choice surely it should be able to stand on its own two feet in a general gaming thread and maybe advertise what is available on your system to others, surely if the game/sales are good enough you'll want to hear what your console war rivals have to say about the great stuff on your system of choice, Imo ofc, I guess there are people who would rather just interact solely with those who have shared interests with them and not hear what other parties have to say at all. I'm not going to try to tell others how to use a forum that they already use and enjoy! Sorry if my post sounded like people should change, it was more to reflect how I myself post.

Yeah it's good when such threads are maintained well enough so you can see relevant information all in one place (I remember back in the day I'd also pop into the Xbox thread just to see what news and deals were going on). It's too bad the thread isn't being kept up with as much anymore.
I get what you're saying though. However, there do seem to be quite a few people that enjoy those threads and I say more power to them if that's the case. I'm fine with threads like that as long as people find value in them.
