As others have said, I have to wonder how a game coming to additional platforms is is a negative thing for any consumer.

cpg716 said: PC and Console games are almost two different factions (with small overlap).. So No.. and playing a PC version of a game is NOT the same as a console. The console for most is on their main TV.. PC's usually in an office somewhere on a MUCH smaller screen.. (I know some have PC connected to large TV but that is by far NOT the norm...) 23" inch is the average monitor size for PCs.. I also think this is a move.. the next Xbox .. called the Xbox 10 .. will likely be a Windows 10 based box. NO disc.. digital only.. and might even support STEAM.. |
Sony has more market clout than Microsoft. Microsoft goes full digital in an era when Sony launches with a safe market price they are screwed. The console must have a format option at the ready since Sony develops those. When the market decides formats needs to die it will.
Pc and Console games are different markets so having a game in xone and PC is not important. But multiconsole games should be a bigger deal because the console war/fights usually get reduces to a matter of specs, which is a waste of time since most of these games are made to run on both consoles and play almost identically making exclusives usually the defining factor to make a buyer decide between one console or another.
As someone who bought an XB1 this last weekend I can't say it bothers me in the slightest. And I'm one of the few owners who only really has interest in the systems exclusives due to having a PC and PS4.
So for Xbox fans who only have an Xbox, I don't think they're going to care in the slightest.
I'm obviously happy for every game that comes to PC.

Exactly!, just buy MS's other platform Windows 10!, so you can play their games exclusively on that instead . |
There's still some Xbox exclusives that are not on windows 10 like Scalebound, Sunset Overdrive, forza Horizon, Halo and Gears 4

Yeeeeees! I've been hyped for this game since it was announced, not because it's Xbox exclusive but cos Remedy makes excellent games and this one doesn't seem to be an exception.

No. Many PC gamers (the folks this is geared towards) don't play in an office, but, right in their rooms, near their console areas. Also, I think the problem with this thread is people are mixing personal feelings with business. No, it shouldn't make any gamer "disappointed" that a title, they were getting on a specific platform, is now multiplatform. However, it does create less incentives to pick up an Xbox One (for folks on the fence) and the negative implications of that cannot be minimized. |
Like I said in the sentence RIGHT after your quote.. NO.. It is a SMALL minority who play their PC on a TV 40" or more.. "many"
is not the majority..

Tbh, I'm not sure why this keeps surprising people. I personally expect every Xbox platform game to eventually head to PC.

My friends and I are expecting Sunset Overdrive to jump to PC anytime soon since it cant go to Sony. That game needs as much money as it can get. Microsoft hasnt revealed the total sales of digital, so we can only go off of physical sales.
