What he was talking about is companies that owe money, if they are leaving to avoid paying, those companies would be stealing from the government.

Companies don't owe crap to their governments if they choose to siphon profits to tax haven and that's not illegal ...

Businesses aren't stealing anything from governments, it's the other way around. Believe me ...

The government can take something, as long as they give some sort of compensation.  Since the business would owe money, not owing money would likely be considered the compensation in this case.

No it wouldn't. The government is not justified in stealing assets, period ...

Having the law acting like robin hood is madness ...

Not paying taxes is illegal mate, you are aware that by not paying taxes these companies and their higher ups are screwing you and everyone else, the's a reason why in all developed countries Tax Evasion is treated like murder or worse because you're essentially robbing the amount you're meant to be putting into the system.

An example I'll give you is Google, over here in the UK George "The Pratt" Osbourne is getting flack for letting them only pay 3% of the tax they owed which in total is in billions and the amount they're going to pay is close to 300m, yet this man has been cutting all kinds of aid that are meant to help carers, parents etc... which don't even come close to the total amount of money Google owes. Too make up the money The Pratt not only cuts such aid but adds things like bedroom tax which hits everyone under the upper class.

Now these companies you're defending who are evading tax are essentially passing what they owe to you, if it's not paid you're going to foot the bill in one way or another eventually as the country needs to make up the lost money some how other wise you end up like Greece. This is why tax firms have so much power in the western countries and in many of them have the power to turn up at your business or home and start seizing assets as that scenario is what they want to avoid at all costs.

Bernie's official campaign site is like literally the worst source for actual information.  It's like expecting Apple's site to show pictures and volunteer statistics on the median age of the Foxconn workers in China that make iPhones and iPads.

Campain sites are like...universally bad sources of information.

If you read through and bother to check the sources, you'd see that it isn't his own or his teams estimated data, the data is from the US government itself :-3

5th amendment is commonly known as the right to remain silent. Are you thinking of the 4th amendment against unlawful search and seizure? In the case of tax evasion it would be a lawful seizure in lieu of debt owed to the US government.

Both are important but the 5th amendment also includes the "nor shall private property be taken for public use" clause ...

Right.  So, like I said.  Univerally bad sources.  When have massive new social/ welfare programs ever cost what they were originally estimated to cost?

Well, what would you call good sources?

Honestly, I would suggest doing your own research and looking up historical information related to massive new government tax hikes/ social programs being brought about, and how they impact the economy, and how much things end up costing years down the line.  Google is always a good start.  The information is out there, you just gotta look for it.  Bernie Sanders' campaign site, that is written and designed to get you to like him, is not a good start.

5th amendment:  "nor shall private property be taken for public use without compensation."

The last two words are the kicker.  It depends how "compensation" is defined, who gets to determine it, how it's calculated, etc.

Which is why you follow the sources and read the original piece of information. :-3

Siphoning profits to a tax haven is also not illegal. Them not paying taxes is screwing over the government. It's a decision of either screwing over the business or screwing over public services and choosing the former isn't a good idea when they pay for our salaries ...

These companies I'm defending are passing what they owe to us, our salaries. They do not have to stop avoiding taxation. You make up lost money by cutting costs, it's not that hard but Greece just couldn't do that before getting another bailout ...
