All consoles have great games on them. You're asking for high quality AAA games, right? Here's what I think:

Wii:
Smash Brothers
Resident Evil 4
Zelda Wii

There are some other great games for the Wii, but nothing that can match those games. You could put Galaxy in there, but I don't consider to be the Wii's best.

Playstation 3:
Ninja Gaiden Sigma
Call of Duty 4

Playstation 3 is still lacking, as most of it's heavy hitters aren't out yet.

360:
Call of Duty 4

The 360 doesn't have a ton of AAA games, despite the fact that it's been out a long time. You could throw some other games on there like Orange Box and Bioshock, but I don't think they're the type of games that define the 360.

The DS and PSP have the best game out right now. None of the consoles actually have a ton high quality games. I'm still waiting.

I'm not asking for AAA games, or any games that define the 3 home consoles, or any other labels. You stated this earlier:

"Quality and gameplay, however, are the two most important things to me in gaming. In my opinion, that's the Wii's weakest area."

I just wanted to know what specific games you thought had quality and gameplay (I assumed you meant high quality and good gameplay). Going by this list you just made, the wii appears to have the most, which is contradictory to the bolded part, so I assume there is more to your lists, yes?

i would have been pissed. at the moment, i can barely afford the cheapest system on the market. i would have nothing to play....

well, i guess i would still have my awesome ps2 library....

I wouldn't be happy at all in that case, because the buisiness really needs at least one pure video gaming company.

If we're counting just any old great game, the Wii wouldn't even come close to the others. I'm talking about games that are just insane good. The Wii just so happens to have games ported from the gamecube, the 2nd best console of all-time, so I included those games because of how good they were in that era. Also, I 've already said that none of the consoles really have those type of games out yet. It's the same reason I included Ninja Gaiden Sigma on the PS3's list. Call of Duty 4 and Smash Brothers both come close, but there are flaws holding them back. Metal Gear Solid 4 is really looking like the first game this generation that will reach out to us gamers and tell us that this is the next generation. Those are the type of games I'm talking about, not just a good game.

I would not be happy if Wii had flopped. There would be no SMG, LoZ:TP or SSBB

I was sad too see sega drop out of the console race they had a real good system going with the dreamcast with online games ect .... soo ahead of its time. Tho I must admit I wanted Xbox too fail miserably because the microsoft brand that I felt they were trying to monopolize everything. Now however i'm glad they step in because of their online service and halo :)

The industry would be unhappy to have seen the Wii flop, mainly because without the Wii's numbers, this generations would have seen the lowest console sales since the NES vs. the Master System.

That is, if you buy into the argument that 90% of Wii owners are casual gaming grandmas and would therefore have not bought a PS3 or a 360. If they would have, well then, yay, it's good that the Wii has so many hardcore-y hardcore whose cores are quite hard owning the system.

I was happy with past Nintendo consoles, but the wii is a gimmick. Its not a real system, its something to pass time until you get a normal system like the 360/PS3. The wii-mote is the worst thing to happen to gaming since the virtual boy.

no and the wii would have sucked

If the Wii had been a flop I would be much happier because like most cheap things it holds the technology world back for another generation, luckily, I suppose the Wii isn't as bad since it has Motion sensing.

I mean, if price wasn't a concern imagine how much farther along technology would be.
