Jak and Daxter was a really good game. Jak 2 and Jak 3, I found depressing. Jak 2 was a Ratchet/Grand Theft Auto Wanna-be. Jak 3 was more of the same.
The music in Jak and Daxter was okay, but it could have been better. Also, I fealt that they "pulled a Spyro" on it with the Power Cell collecting (Spyro 2) and the childish missions (also Spyro 2, and 3). Always the little things that bother me in games. Jak 2 and Jak 3 were not only easy, but really, really ugly. Not a signle spec of color.
I think I gave up too easily on Ratchet and Clank. I played the first game, and thought it was too easy aswell. Kind of boring too. I think I'll give it another chance, but Jak and Daxter really ruined it for me. I was a big fan of the game. But after playing Jak 2, I sold all of them. Every single Jak game.
Never tried Sly. Still have the foul taste of Jak 2. Perfect example of an immature game, made for immature teenagers. That's the thing about some T-rated games. Once you turn into an adult, you find some of them very immature. E-rated games are truely for everyone. You get to appreciate the E-rated games more when you are older. I find the best platformers to be E-rated (Super Mario 64/Sonic Adventure). Mind you, it's E for everyone, not C for children, which is what people view E rated games as.
M rated games are good too, but only for certain types of games like shooters, horror games, and fighting games. Anything else is kind of lame.
But Crash Bandicoot was the man. People just forgot about his games because his last good game was in 1998.
