As of today, Undertale passed the 1m mark on Steamspy: http://steamspy.com/app/391540

Since it's also available on the developer's own website DRM-free, and the soundtrack and merchandise are for sale, I'd estimate >$15m in revenue so far for an essentially 1-man game (he did the design, programming, soundtrack, and some art).

That's enormous, but revenue to developer is much smaller though. Steam sells Undertale for $10 in USA and 10 Euros in Europe, but a significant share of that million are sales in Russia/Ukraine, South America, China, Turkey, Asia etc where games sometimes cost only a fraction of that. In Brazil and China Undertale costs $5 and in Russia only $3.2.

So worldwide Steam average price should be $8-9.

And I think at least in Europe, Steam has to deduct some VAT which is around 20% on average, and then Steam takes its 30% cut. So the developer gets no more than $5-6 per copy, meaning $5-6 million from Steam sales. Website sales are only a small part of Steam sales, maybe another million Dollars.

So I would say $6-8 million in total for that single developer.

That's still amazing for a game I think looks absolutely ridiculous.

That's a lot of furries :^)

the sales arent that impressive if you consider it cost only 10 bucks. Obviously its still enough to make the creator a millionaire

What are you comparing his sales to?.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

I bought this game a week ago and still havent gotten to it

Still waiting for it on Vita.
