iunnno uncharted maybe?
| Onyxmeth said: If you haven't played them already then Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City or San Andreas or GTA IV very soon will be released. Probably the best games for exploration. Final Fantasy XII had great exploration also I think. It allowed you to go to any high level area you wanted to and get your ass handed back to you royally. If I remember correctly, I believe Far Cry had a lot of exploration. I haven't played it yet but I believe Animal Crossing has lots of exploration too. Elder Scrolls IV also. |
Lol I played all of those games except for the bolded.
@ Soriku I played ToS , but not BKO
@ PDF & COOL I will try them both. I found a demo for the myst game. I think I have tomb raider just never played it.
@TWRoO I still want battles and stuff ES is good , but it is all exploration and nothing else.

Yeah judging by that trailer only It looks like something I would like.
little big adventure, absolutely awesome game.
nintendo and sega fan since i was old enough to hold a game controller.
note: my games collection on my profile is only 20ish% complete, i've got a boatload of 360,saturn and dreamcast games to add and a few ps3 games, thanks :)
If you want a more linear based kind of exploration, the original Prince of Persia: Sands of Time has a lot, and the sequel, Warrior Within, has even more that is even less linear. FF VII and IX have a ton of exploration and sidequests to do as well, particularly IX with the Chocobo digging sidequest (SO MUCH FUN!!!).
We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls. The only thing that really worried me was the ether. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke
It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...." Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Ratchet and Clank games are always good for that, GTA3/Vice City/San Andreas all offer huge worlds to explore. Destroy All Humans 1/2 offer unique gameplay and open worlds to explore.
Those are the only games I can think of at the moment that offer good open world's that you can run around without have to do any sort of mission.

I totally forgot about Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. You can download it off XBLA or the PSN for $10. Even though it is a 2d side scroller, it has more exploration than most games I have ever played. It is ridiculously fun to boot.
