I mainly play shooters (First and third person) so I definitely need/want blood in games, gore is a big plus for me also. :)

LEAGUE
like others stated above it depends on the game...doesnt really matter to me however
Basically if I shoot someone, I expect blood unless it is a cartoony game. If it is a realistic looking game, then I need some blood
| ChronotriggerJM said: Depends on how it's used. A game like unreal tournament, where frantically moving from target to target, if it had no gore or exploding bodies, it would almost null the sense of the perfect kill that gets accompanied by a yelling announcer screaming ULTRA KILL, GOD LIKE! etc etc... A game like Mario however >_>; Definitely not needed. If your going for a violent setting or mood, gore and blood can be infinitely useful. |
couldn't have said it better my selff
but yeah usually it is disturbing w. blood in my games
| TopCat8 said: Blood and gore is fine for certain games. Remember in Goldeneye 64 when the enemies would actually get red patches all over their clothes? James Bond games don't have that (minimal) blood anymore, and I feel it takes away somthing from the series. Obviosly a game like Resident Evil should be bloody and gory, but if the blood wasn't in there, it would still be an acceptable game. One series that I always thought would benefit from blood and gore is the Metroid Prime series. It really all depends on the game. |
Metroid Prime? Are you kidding? XD There's tons of blood and gore in those games. When you shoot an enemy, most often they explode, sending blood and bits of their bodies in all directions, and when you shoot them up close they splatter their gory guts all over your visor. :p It's just that they're not human, so the blood's not red.

Like Riot said Gameplay is Gameplay
I don't care if there isn't any in it but I like it when it is needed like shooters and war games. I remember when WCW vs NWO World Tour came out, I turned on the blood. I thought it was awesome at the time.
Some games go over the top. Most games dont disturb with gore because it's usually an unrealistic amount. e.g Ninja Gaiden. However games like Condemned 2 need it to highten the fear.
blood and gore like gears or halo or cod4 yea.
blood and gore like manhunt or condemmd 2 bloodshot. hell no
