So I was accepted into the closed beta for The Divsion, and decided to record some gameplay for people here to judge (note that it hasn't finished proccessing so it may not be in HD): https://youtu.be/26E5mSaFUw4
Impressions anyone? I thought it was bland and boring, even though it was only an hour. It felt like a regular cover and shoot game, and it got repetitive fast. Enemies are bullet sponges, but are also terrible in terms of difficulty. I can name dozens of mistake's I made when playing throught his, and I didn't die once. It was super easy, even if it was an early part of the game. The graphics where also meh in my opinion, I thought The Witcher 3 looked far better. Either way, this does make me less inclined for me to buy in the near future. Quantum Break is coming out in April, and it seems pretty interesting, so that maybe the choice I go for. Alan Wake was good, and it was from Remedy as well, so at least I can trust the developer of QB, unlike that of The Division.
Anyway back on topic. I feel this game will disappoint, especially compared to what we saw back in 2013. It isn't just graphics, the core gameplay seems to be radically changed, and not for the better. It feels like a 1/2 baked experience. And calling it an RPG... yeah, in its dreams. I felt the game was just plain boring and not really worthy of any sort of praise. I've seen far worse, but for one of the most hyped games of the year, it seems like a dissapointing start.
Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).
