I think it's the crappy XB1 graphics that are putting people off. I mean the latest comparison shots with PC are atrocious!:

Well for me and my friends it was quite simple:
- We´re not THAT much into FPS (maybe 1 a year at most)
- We like Sony first party games and their diversity
- Most people I know like Jrpgs/japanese games in general(No chance they´ll ever see the light of day on Xbox)
- MS really dropped the ball on 360 in the later years whereas sony killed it
- We do not want Kinekt or Windows...
- Faith in the brand
Also I cannot stress enough how important diversity is. Aside from a couple games there usually is little overlap in the gamecollections of me and my friends. Everybody in my circle loves some Niche games the others don´t "get".

| Yup...RO friggin rocked |
I thought the whole thing was that they aren't equipollent. The whole 1080p vice 900p scandal.

| Cobretti2 said: its cause Sony promised 10000 games sometime in the future with CGI videos and people jumped on the hype train. oh and because they had the video of them showing hw you can share games by handing over a physical copy to your mate at the tie Microsoft had caught the DRM virus. |
You mean like Quantum Break, Scalebound, Recore, and Phantom Dust?
Seriously though, Sony has showed comparatively few CGI trailers.
Bet with Adamblaziken:
I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

no idea what Microsoft showed as I have no interest in it, however PS4 sold on hype. Which isn't a bad thing just good planning.
In the past, strongest hardware didn't matter. Brand loyalty changed. Marketing wasn't always a guarantee. All I can say is the games it the promise of future games.
In my opinion, the console with the best games always wins.
They're not the same though:
PS4 is smaller with a better design
PS4 has more games
PS4 has more diversity in games
PS4 has better versions of Multiplats
PS4 has more content with a lot of Multiplats
PS4 has higher scoring games overall
PS4/PS has a better reputation
Which is why it's outselling the XB1 easily. I recently saw a podcast in which 4 XB1 fans were discussing the games on the PS4 so far this year. They were arguing all we have is The Witness and Gravity Rush Remastered. Not once did they address what they had. It seems to me that XB1 owners want their cake and eat it. They're fine telling PS4 owners they have no games but when you point out they have more games than the XB1 they pretend the conversation started with Sony fans. It's getting boring and only does harm to the XB1 brand. And here we are again having to explain why the PS4 is better instead of just playing games.
The PS5 Exists.

It's not the equivalent. Ps4 has more games and q bigger variety. It has serious Japanese support, better indies and imo better exclusives to my tastes.
It's also more powerful with a better UI but that's not a deciding factor. All my friends are on ps4 and I prefer the controller.
On top of all that I'd not buy an x1 because I believe Microsoft should suffer for what they tried to pull off. If they can simply do a 180 and sell a shit load anyway what's deterring them from trying that again in future.
Why does this kind of threads come out from time to time when the answer will always be the same?
METACRITIC SCORES (80-89)
PS4: 120
X1: 82
Wii U: 59
METACRITIC SCORES (90-99)
PS4: 14
X1: 5
Wii U: 7

More Games, Better Games, More Sales.
It is not Rocket Science people!
Also, the fact that most 3rd party games run and look better on the system does help with the sales.
