I will never understand why SEGA is not pushing Yakuza more in the west.

Same here. Yakuza was what got me through waiting for a Shenmue sequel. I prefer it to most sandbox games out there and the gameplay is perfect.

I think that people were expecting an open world game like GTA then the first game came out. Also i thing the name isn't helping at. When they see ''Yakuza'' strange things are jumping into their heads. I don't know why Sega didn't choose to leave title as it is for the west.

The demo starts at 11:10.

I'm really impressed by what I'm seeing. When the cars drive in at 14:53 for example. This is a very detailed street of Kamurocho. It looks like a bigger jump from Yakuza 4 (haven't played 5 yet) than I would have expected from just a one generation gap.

Its next gen power :- D

i think so too. no tv-spots by yakuza in usa/europe. Yakuza has all - a amaaaazing story with interesting characters, a good fight-system with a great world und many jrpg-skills. Maybe with Yakuza Zero, more people play it on PS4 this year then. In Yakuza Zero, its very dark - the moments in Kamurocho ^^ Yakuza 6 is now my Most Wanted Number 1 with Persona 5 <3 Really awesome, Sega. Y6 = cant wait!! Haruka looks great < 3

Look the video or play the demo - then you know how awesome the game looks like :) i'm in NeoGaf and Gematsu and yes, every person love the new Yakuza 6-Graphic. (have played the demo). have fun and wish you a great weekend = )

The game is only at 65% of what the final product will look like. So, there is much room for improvement yet.

I think it's a combination of marketing and what you said. They probably think it will play like Mafia and GTA, and you will be able to drive around and kill people and have police chase after you etc.

 

As for the name, I don't think Like a Dragon would work in the west. however, on that note, did you watch the film?
