Forums - Nintendo - Pokken Tournament to be Huge Selling Game in the US? Huge Push as it Gets a place in Evo 2016 and In Pokemon Worlds!

Evo will be one of the big events in the Pokkén Tournament Championship Series, where players will compete for prizes, as well as invitations and travel awards to the Pokkén Tournament World Championships this August in San Francisco, California! Also, look forward to a Pokkén Tournament Championship Series event at the Pokémon US National Championships.

No doubt that these pushes will help with initial sales of the game, what I'm curious about is if the community and support for Pokken will last a good while.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

This has potential but I don't think I can even venture a guess at this point on how well it will do!

Hopefully it becomes a hit though :)

Good thing is pokemon fanbase is 10mil+ strong, even 10% would be enough especially for a fighting game. TBH i didn't expect this kind of push cuz its still a spin off (unlike mario, pokemon doesn't do well sales wise).

This could be the exception. You should see the salt for evo thread at neogaf xD (pokken already hated on)

I hope it does well if only to show that there's still a large audience for fighting games on Nintendo consoles (though I question the decision to use Pokemon for this spinoff on a struggling Nintendo console since the Pokemon audience is on Nintendo handhelds).  Also, I'm not surprised about the neogaf reaction since they have an obvious bias against Nintendo and an obvious bias for Sony there.  People don't call the place 'sonygaf' for nothing.

Is going to be big, sales and competitive wise

Maybe it'll sell a million afterall. :L

Should be interesting!

Though iirc, one person has to use the Wii U gamepad so that would be a bit strange :/

I don't know how deep of a fighting game it will be but since it will probably sell 1.5m/2m+, it should get a sequel with more work put on it.

Excuse me? Nintendo owns the biggest fighting franchise in gaming, Super Smash Bros.
