Hmm interesting - might have to check up on the history of what happened :O

IIRC When his Final Fantasy movie flopped (which was unfortunate 'cause it was actually quite good) Sony had to save Square Enix, gave them money, bought shares etc. Then Sony were supposedly the ones that made Square Enix get rid of Sakaguchi.

I know Sakaguchi got canned after Spriits Within almost killed the company, but I don't think Sony had anything to do with it.

Sony owned less than 10% of Square at the highest point. They didn't have that much pull.

The movie was distributed by Columbia Pictures.

I've only played one Microsoft game made by Sakaguchi and that was Lost Odyssey. When did he make a second one? Sakaguchi is Microsofts best bet at getting a killer JRPG (outside of square). The whole point right now is just to amass a catalogue.

Blue Dragon. Don't know about third game, but Sakaguchi didn't worked on Xbox 360 afterwards. He goes to Nintendo, both DS and Wii.

IMO this game will depends on money. If one of "big three" pays the bill, it's clear. If not, then probably PS4 and NX.

Sakaguchi has had a bias against the Sony brand since he left Square. Sorry, but the chances of you seeing a Sony exclusive from him ever again are faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar behind MS and Nintendo. LOL Sure, Nintendo might get another game, but I was just pointing out that it has been a while since he's made something for Microsoft.

Looking foward to seeing more of this new game and the terra battle console port/remakre or whatever it turns out as.
