Nintendo is not Sony. They can't reach a huge audience in less than a year if they first show it off and launch it this year.

Why can't they? Please explain.

Because they have only 12.5 million consumers left. Some of them may not even buy another Nintendo console. Sony has an audience of at least 80 million people. Of course they can sell a product much faster and tell people much faster what it is. Look, 3 years after the Wii U launch there are still people who don't know what it actually is.

You do realize the Nintendo DS was announced, shown, and launched within like 9 months right?

The 3DS also was announced, unveiled, and released to market in under 12 calendar months.

People know what the Wii U. They just don't want one. Nintendo can sell it for another 5 years and there still will be many people who don't want one.

It'll be the NX "handheld" but you'll be able to play games on your TV with a Wii U/PS4 through cloud streaming.

I actually would not be surprised if a NX Cloud service that lets you basically play NX games on a Wii U, iPad, PC, AppleTV, etc. (and yes, maybe even a PS4) is one pillar of the NX platform.

Just buy the NX controller and either have one of the above hardware, a smart TV, or buy a cheap NX streaming receiver and you can play NX games if your internet connection is good enough.

Like the move to make mobile games, this could be one of the several huge changes coming for Nintendo in the next few years.

You mean, like the Wii... which debuted and launched the same year?

Wii was revealed at TGS 2005 and released in 2006.

By your half ass logic Nintendo has 100 million consumers. Just because ps3 did 80 doesn't mean they have 80 million listing now! And also just because wiiu sold 12.5 doesn't mean that's all there audience, did you forget the 3ds numbers?

No, the "Revolution" controller debuted at TGS.  The "Wii" (including the library of games) was revealed at E3 2006.

NX will be out this year. Nintendo can (and probably will) support Wii U for another year before giving up on it. I expect most of these late Wii U games to also have NX remasters / re-releases.

The controller, which is basically ''the Wii'' was announced at TGS along with some games. In E3 we just saw how the box would like along with more games.

So in other words it debuted at TGS.

By that rationale, it technically debuted at E3 2005... if you count Iwata holding up a box and saying, "The console will only be about 3 DVDs thick", lol.

And no, games were not shown at TGS, at least not publicly.  So yes, the "Wii" debuted at E3 2006 and launched the same year.

NX is just an add on of some sorts for the Wii U i reckon.
