Don't worry, you will have to do some adjustments, but your gaming life won't be over. Just remember that you need to have priorities, there are time when we really want to play for hours, but we have to study or to do something else.

I'm at the last year of my course and still play my games frequently. It is actually even better to play a game after doing something that you struggled but succeded, it feels like you really deserve some good time and you don't need to worry about anything.

It's not over yet, you can still play games. Back in fall 2009 when i majored college, i could still play games every Thursday-Friday weekly.

Don't go to school. It's for chumps.

Ask stefl1504 for a sig, even if you don't need one.

If you care so much about your gaming life then you could always start out as some part time student ...

Personally speaking though I would forgo gaming for post-secondary education depending on the program since it can be a huge wake up call for some people ...

I graduated last year and decided to take a year off helping my parents with bills. It took be MONTHS to find a job and I finally found a job this month, it's not actually a full time job yet, but I'm on call 24/7 so I'm ready all time to go to work. Now that I'm making money, I have can buy any game I want. But it sucks so much that this great opportunity will be gone since I'll be going to University. I have a HUGE passion for video games and been playing all my life. Most of my fun times in High School was because of video games. I cant imagine my life without video games for a few years. I WOULD SUFFER.  Have  anyone ever played games in University or College? before??

I'm in the same position as you, about to leave for Uni, but I'm not worrying too much. I love my games, and I'm sad that I won't be able to have 5+ hour gaming marathons anymore, but that'll be substituted for shorter 1-2 hour session whenever I can in between the opportunities uni will provide. Pretty much all unis these days have a gaming society anyway, if you joined up you could find people in the same situation as you too.

That's just the way it is. I'm going through the exact same situation and it just comes down to which one is more important and needs more time. Plus, since I'm paying my tuition I don't have much money to spend on video games either. But it's part of growing up and becoming responsible. You have to figure out how to balance work, school, and "me" time in order to achive the perfect balance of happiness.

Sure, time management helps but be warned, as the years go on, you will have little to no time to play games. Especially if you're serious about your chosen major. Please don't waste your time, do what it is you love and don't let games take precedence over your education. I know I'm sounding preachy as hell right now, but I've seen so many people fall flat on their ass, friends, that just blow their college years on nothing but indulgence. Don't be like that, there'll be plenty of time to play games on breaks and well after you finish your Bachelors.

If you're gonna dump as much time and money into Uni as most do.... do not screw it up with video games . Stick to quickie indies in your scant free time, but seriously, games will always be around, school is only 2-6 years...it's so easy to get burnt out with school and start putting too much time into hobbies.

Too many assume they can have fun and study, struggle, and then switch to an easy but probably useless degree or drop out. Basically, if you are gonna do school, fucking do it.

Im in the same boat as you! But I still dont have a job yet.
Im also starting University this year, and I have noooo clue how hard the work will be. But if anything I've learnt in High School is that I need to take it much more seriously. Soooo I've kinda tried to reduce/stop doing some of my hobbies. For example, I stopped watching a lot of Youtube videos, I became inactive in some forums I used to go to a lot (Except here =D) and I've also started buying very less games.

Well, Hopefully we'll find a way and still successfully graduate!
