Ok, here we go:

  1. Can Pokémon X and Y outsell Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire?
  2. Can Pokémon X and Y outsell Pokémon Black and White?
  3. Can Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire outsell Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver?
Sales:
  • Pokémon X and Y have sold 14.15m units according to Nintendo, as of September 30
  • Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire have sold 10.69m units according to Nintendo, as of September 30
  • Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire have sold 15.85m units according to VGChartz
  • Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver have sold 12.72m units according to Nintendo, as of September 30
  • Pokémon Black and White have sold 15.60m units according to Nintendo, as of September 30

1: Yes its possible. If they do a mass reprint or something of X and Y when Z hit the shelves

2: Also possible, for the same reason as above

3: Hmm maybe, its plausible. But i do not think so.

There is a good chance of X/Y outselling Black/White. I suppose it will depend of the Pokemon Z announcement. Outselling Ruby/Sapphire is too much, though. ORAS could also outsell HG/SS. Again, Pokemon Z announcement will determinate the remaining Pokemon sales.

The sales are actually a lot closer than I had originally thought..

It will be close, but I think they can.. if they release Pokemon Z, that could also push some more X and Y sales

All 3 is no. Xy should be between 14.5mil to 15mil lifetime. That's it. Oras can get in between 11.5mil to 12mil, maybe a bit over but it won't touch hgss
