Very interesting report by : Nintendo's NX may work with smartphones, PCs and even rival consoles such as PlayStation4.

 

"Macquarie Research Japan senior analyst David Gibson has hinted that the forthcoming Nintendo NX platform will be able to interact with devices such as the popular PlayStation 4, smartphones and PC’s. Interestingly, his comments came around the same time as the company raised their rating for Nintendo’s financial performance. "

Well, they'll have to be more specific about what they mean with "interact". Is it "using the 3DS as a WiiU controller in Smash", or "I can post things on Miiverse on my phone and see them on my WiiU" levels of interaction?

Now I really, really don't know what to think right now about NX. I never thought of this being an idea. I kinda get the cross-platforming thing with PCs and mobile, but PS4? Interesting...

I'm not against cross-platform gaming. I can see PC/Smartphone, but I'm not sure about PS4/One. Though this could improve their software sales a lot.

That's what I think as well.  It's probably a way to entice 3rd parties to port their games and for people to buy the NX without having to face the inevitable need to buy the same console as their friends so they can play together online.
