Well, I think that she made some valid points in the past, and some wrong points too. I think people were too harsh with her, since she's only giving an opinion about a controversial subject. I remember seeing the comments on her YT videos and they were extremely disgusting. To be honest, I agree with her in videogames being sexist and attracting the teen male demography with female butts and tits. And I don't expect insults for saying this lol.

I pretty much agree. I think the butt covering video is pretty good.

The thing is, if you don't like video games in their current form, go ahead and make you own ones. Nobody is stopping you. But to go out and tell other people how they should do their games? That's called censorship.

And that's really all there is to say.

Pretty dumb response. What you are describing is not censorship, you should look up the word and learn what it means. Criticism of art is all part of free speech and healthy social debate. It's people wanting to shut Anita down who are attempting censorship.

And it's such a lame come back to tell social critics to go make their own games.

Anita just makes me sad. Many of the core problems she brings up are valid and worth discussing, but how she addresses them, and how she seems to want to fix many of them, just turns both her and the issues she discusses into a joke for anyone not dedicated to the same perspective.

Social politics (politics in general, really) have become far too commercialized. Real issues are often either too complex or too boring to engage the average person, so you get people oversimplifying, warping, and dramatizing issues to attract more attention. You just end up with people try to 'fix' the issues you've painted with solutions that either just make the actual issue worse, or create whole new ones.

Please stop giving that bish attention.

No, I can't agree with this. It's the opposite. Telling people to don't tell other people how she thinks they should do their games is censorship. It's just an opinion on how some games are sexist. And she's not a developer so obviously she won't make a game. She's a media critic. And, as I said, I'm not his biggest fan because sometimes she is way exaggerated, but she brings some fair points which are worthy of discusion.

What I can tell is that she does some research and there's work behind her videos. So I can truly appreciate that. There are some youtubers that do some idiocies in front of the cam and are very popular and even praised, and the way this woman was criticised and harassed on the media was painful. People can't agree with her, and that's fair, it's a controversial subject. I read some tweets people wrote to her, for example:

"You're a despicable whore"

"kill yourself feminists you are a waste of air also more games should have girl characters half naked such as "Tomb Raider" etc"

"you criticize gamers for "threatening" you 1v1 me gta u be the prostitute and I'll be the guy that runs over your attention whore"

"bitch were not talking about that so I hope you get fucking raped u fucking whore"

"I hope every feminist has their head severed from their shoulders"

"kill yourself oh wait sorry did I hurt your tits with my keyboard"

There are hundreds of tweets like that. Hundreds. There's obviously a problem. I feel bad for her.

I mean, if all she wants is for male characters on videogames to be sexualised in exchange of female characters, I don't see what's wrong with it. Hell, I'm all for it! I wouldn't be bothered at all if the hero I'm playing with is wearing something skintight and/or revealing. It's a... sacrifice I'm willing to take.

You'd give into feminazis? Hmm, Snakes/Raidens/Venoms/Big Boss's nasty arses, had to look at them for too many hours and we finally get a HD looking woman that makes up for all the hours of man arse over the years which has gotten more defined and repulsing. I say no, you have to balance muscled arses with tits and them bouncy, bouncy ladies.

I'm never giving in to feminazis, and I'm not agreeing with Anita either. It's just that people get so embarrassed to see a guy's skintight clad ass on a game, and I'm willing to bet that the great majority will demand less balance and more females. It's been normal on Metal Gear Solid for a while, but it isn't as widespread as females in scantily outfits. Bayonetta, Dead or Alive, Fear Effect, Final Fantasy, Street Fighter, even Metal Gear Solid. All those games have women in provocative outfits, and I have nothing against that. But I'm only saying I don't mind for male characters to be oversexualized. I'm glad that Team Ninja took a step forward with that with DOA.

Yep, Chubby. She needs to slim down, loose the 10 cent whore look, grow back the eyebrows and show some skin or she'll never get a woman who will turn that frown upside down. #GetAnitaALesbianLoverASAP

Censorship.  I'm not sure it means what you think it means.

I really really really didn't want to discuss Anita or her videos. It just baffled me that Engadget locked the comment section for this specific article. I frequent Engadget daily and I've never seen this happening before. Dictatorship
