Never really grew up much with board games, I used to play Operation before with my brother and played scrabble with friends and maybe checkers a few times

operation is fun!!

but videogames are better

it is good to play board games once in a while

but sometime they just make me very board

Board games are great. My favourites are Chess, Monopoly and Risk.

Carcassone - the best board game there is

Monopoly - its good but theres better

Risk - very very good game

Apples to apples - only played it once but it is an amazing game

Backgammon - play this, thats an order :P

Hacienda - its good never quite got the hang of it though

cant think of any others but i do like most board games

There's someone else out there who actually plays Rail Baron? Sweet!

Illuminati (No one remembers this and Talisman, but they are classics!)

I play a lot more too, but those are my favorites. I'm also a pretty damn good Poker player, and play a decent amount of card games, including the practically Indiana Exclusive: Euker.

I don't play Rail Baron as much as I used to, but it was absolutely my favorite game from probably 10-15 years old. I still love it, but Empire Builder games offer more freedom.

Two of my friends, a couple, are German Board Game Addicts... and I have to say... if you think you like board games and you like Monopoly... you have no idea. German Board Games are 100X better than what we 'have' here.

Settlers of Cattan is pretty much the best of the best as far as I'm concerned, but there are sooooo many nifty German games. Go to the afformentioned boardgamegeek.com site. It has lots of German (and other) games of excellence.
