So, before launch people had hopes that Bayonetta 2 would sell decently well, but then its sales proved to be a bit disappointing (the game hasn't reached 1m yet). After this I thought Nintendo would be done with Bayonetta after it proved to be not that great of a system seller nor even a great seller by itself.

But lately we got Bayonetta herself announced as a playable character on Smash Bros., and more recently a new try to push/advertise the game as Nintendo is planning to release the game as a standalone version (without Bayonetta 1 included) for a much lower price alongside with her release on Smash Bros. Plus, we know that Nintendo has a good relationship with Platinum.

Given those signs, I'm seriously starting to think that Nintendo might actually fund Bayonetta 3 after all this promotion as a "last chance". They also need all games, especially exclusives, they can get on their next system.

What do you thinks guys?

It would definitely be good for their PR, but I honestly don't know.

I'm personally hoping for an "Angel May Cry" DMCxBayo crossover first. Also that Jeanne spin off game.

After Bayonetta 2 being exclusive and becoming tied to Nintendo, the franchise can't go anywhere without feeling incomplete. Nintendo will fund it, it's a safe 90+ metacritic game that only needs funding to exist,and even if it is not a monster seller, it will put their system all over the media, good advertising for the system and good PR for Nintendo.

I think is very likely, and a great idea. The fanbase loves her since most of them voted for her to be on smash.

Considering they funded the second game I would say it;s likely that they will fund a third. It would be nice to see it on their next system though since the jump in hw could also benefit the title and allow is to play the other two titles to make it more definitive and complete for the eventual new console.

960,000 not including digital is pretty freaking good, their second release of 2 for $30 should also boost the sales past a million physical sold hopefully (and bringing some attention to the character through Smash is smart). Her being voted in Smash also kind of points to her desirability to a certain degree (even if she wasn't really "top place"). I think everyone won with this deal in the end, and I think a deal for Bayo 3 isn't as unlikely as some would think. I think 70%.
