Forums - Gaming - Playstation network gets a new wave of scams... in Sweden.

How will this affect sales of the PS4 in europe? Was there any noticable change last time the PSN had issues with these type of scams?

Er, care to explain what the problem is instead of letting the link do the talking for you?

I concur with the poster above me. But let me say this: Nothing ever that happened in Sweden had any effect on anything. So I think those precious PS4 sales are safe.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

It will not affect PS4 sales the slightest.
The sums arent that big anyway. The people affected will be refunded for sure.

Apparently police in sweden have received "hundreds" of reports of people being scammed through PSN. The victims have all been charged a sum of 629 SEK, some of them multiple times. One guy has been charged almost 6000 SEK (APX 700 USD) and the police has a theory that the scammers use the money to get some points in FIFA 16 which can be exchanged to real money.

I'm curious why you think that would drop ps4 sales?  Is there more to the story?  Is this a PSN breach, hack, flaw?  It's hard to understand from thread title.  I'm curious how people happening to get scammed on PSN becomes PSN's fault?  Since its in Swedish can you elaborate more?

l <---- Do you mean this glitch Gribble?  If not, I'll keep looking.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

Sounds really weird how there were no card details on the psn account yet some how someone managed to spend that money on Fifa Virtual currency in the game. Something here ain't right.

I don't think it will harm sales in Sweden, it's a small percentage of people (Well, I don't know what the sales numbers are in Sweden anyway). It may scare some people off but not enough to hurt Playstation, I haven't been affected... yet :P

Hvordan er salget av PS4 i Sverige? I forhold til Xbox. I Norge er PS4 dominerende, jeg kjenner ingen som har Xbox.
