Forums - Gaming - I've completely lost interest in console/pc gaming over the past 5 months.

So, what are we discussing in this topic?

Just take a break until something comes out that interest you, it comes and goes for me as well. Just do other things you enjoy and live your life the way you want to!

It happened to me. I lost interest in gaming the last gen, when I tried to open up to another gaming devices and buy a PS3 instead of a Wii. It worked for a year, but I wasn't exactly having fun with it. I felt it, I knew that something was missing. So I was 4/5 years without playing, until I bought my 3DS/WiiU which completely absorbed me and brought me back again into the gaming world. I'm not trying to make a fanboyish comment, but it was my personal experience back in those days. I'm a Nintendo fan and try to hide it because people told me that I was close-minded was a great mistake.

Sometimes I just take breaks. For the past few week Ive been trying a bunch of indie games from PS+ (probably around 60). Very little of it is interesting but its been a nice pallete clenser.

Take a break. I skipped most of last gen (seemingly along with most Japanese devs). Got back in just before 8th gen and the feeling was like..."Oh yeah, I remember video games!"

Go back to retro gaming when budgets were not gigantic. No one takes risks any more in the industry, just plays the safe game.

I'm 31 now, and i'm pretty bummed out on modern gaming, likely to skip this gen and sell off last gen.

It's called burn out. Nothing is great when it's experienced too often. Take a break. Find something else to do. You'll come back in time.

I always go through something like this eventually. It never last that long but for like a month or two.

I have experienced this as well. I'm currently 23 years old and I suddenly easily get bored while playing even a genre of my liking which is an RPG. Can't even play 8 hours straight or past bed time anymore. But then I realized it wasn't because I was growing up or I'm starting to be uninterested on video games but simply because the game I'm playing is quite bland despite of the awesome graphics compare to the previous games.

Then one day, after I played Catherine(an Atlus game), I got addicted again my gaming aura came back! Then I played Nino Kuni and I got bored easily again(Although I still managed to platinum) it. You could try playing mobile games for now like when I started playing Game of Dice and it got me going again! It's a casual game so I think it will fit your schedule.

I then started thinking what games I can play past bed time or longer hours. And these are awesome games made by Atlus, Capcom, Square-enix, and Bandai. Although during the age of PS3, a lot of RPGs even with those developers aren't that addicting anymore compare to the old games. But there still a few rpgs that I really like on PS3 which get me really going like FFXIII part 1-3, Catherine, God of War etc. DMC reboot(due to a change in developer) and Tales of Zeristria(due to its bland story and characters) diminishes my interest again, its the only DMC I didn't managed to platinum.

So yeah maybe you should trying playing really addicting games that are just as enjoying as the previous games. Don't worry I feel like PS4 is the return of awesome JRPGs like FFXV, Dragon Quest Heroes, Kingdom Hearts 3, Star Ocean 5, Tales of Berseria, etc. :D
