Any idea when Tectoy stopped selling Megadrives?

The Megadrive had also several 3rd party versions, both during it's main run (like the WonderMega) and later on. The last one I know was the ATgames Firecore, which got released in 2009 (and I own an european version of this one btw)

Here's what the Firecore looks like:

Around the Network

Probably wasn't selling that much anymore.

Tectoy went for built in games model, and it actually still does the Mega Drive but as a portable.

It's called MD Play, it's on their site as well.

Yeah, I saw that one, but since it's mobile I liken it more to the Sega Nomad than the Megadrive/Genesis

Debatable in the cases of Sega Master System and Megadrive due to Brasil, where they got supported well into the last decade, complete with new hardware revisions.

Edit: apparently, the Master System is still selling around 150k a year in Brasil: http://www.atlasobscura.com/articles/brazil-is-a-video-game-alternate-universe-where-sega-beat-nintendo
