This is a time where the amiibo function doesn't make any sense. Why take some of that content and slap it on a figure that is bundled with the game?

To prevent resales, most likely.

Hmm, do you mean in a sense of fighting used sales....? I'm not sure I follow..

Well RIP to people expecting a full game if they buy it pre-owned or a version without the amiibo.

You sound like Amiibo will unlock half of a game and not just one dungeon.

So on disc DLC/locked content is now ok when Nintendo does it?

I don't think it ok but I also dont think its such a problem like you describe.

I don't plan on getting this game in the first place, but if they lock out a whole new dungeon, I most likely will never get this game because after a while, this amiibo will be hard to find :p

Hopefully, Zelda U won't incorporate too much from the TP HD save files..

Wonder if the DLC is on disc.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Guys, what if this new dungeon is like the cave of ordeals and when you reach the final level Midna tells you something like "Hero of time, your quest has only just begun, enter this portal to see into your future" and then... BAM! You appear at the same place where Aonuma presented the game the first time, and you could run around a little bit. Wouldn't that be great? Mmph or maybe I'm just too hyped for Zelda U and I need it now haha.

I want to buy the special edition, mainly because of the soundtrack, but amazon.es only has the standard copy.
I don't mind the idea too much, but if this is something they are planning to do with every game in the future I'm out. I know they want money, but unless they hire me I'm kinda fucked if I have to buy all those amiibos haha.

That's now how you use Amiibo. It's unfair to lock an entire dungeon with Amiibos. I'm in to unlock suits, some power-ups, little things like that. That's the same as DLC, pay 12$ for a dungeon which you are interested, even if you're not interested at all in the Amiibo.

Ah yes of course. I pay $50 for a game but am required to pay another $12 to have access to content that already exists on the disc I bought.

Bravo. *slow clap*

Well, you will pay $50 and get the game + amiibo lol

I don't like it. Make the content available without a stupid amiibo. If it's a dungeon, make it available. I'm not buying an amiibo for 12 on top of the 50. I'll pass on the whole thing if it's that way.

On-disc DLC are a theft and should be banned!....

Oh, it's Nintendo, so it's OK. EA or Ubisoft would be killed for the same thing, but Nintendo is always liked even with moves like that (Awakening DLCs, worst thing I've ever seen, but nobody cares....).

I just can't understand how it works.

I think almost everyone is criticising that move. It it's a dickish move, it doesn't depend on the company.
