Forums - Sony - So does the SIXAXIS just randomly turn on to drain battary life?

Getting another controller is unlikely to solve his problem. I have had similar issues with my less used wiimote, and other battery powered devices that go unused for long periods. It is just a natural property of batteries and exists in every controller that sits unused for too long.

batteries naturally lose their charge if not used for a while, especially rechargeable ones. if you treated your 360 controller the way you did with your sixaxis, it would lose it's charge the same way.

Strangely enough this doesn't happen to my 360 controllers.  They do get more play than my PS3, but I haven't touched either of them in a while (since Culdcept Saga) and just tested them and they work fine.  Still plenty of charge left in both of them and one is even a good 6 months older than my PS3 controller.

I suppose I'll just get a new one when the DS3 comes out (of course I was planning on doing that anyways).  This is probably for the best, I was going to pick up and start playing the Lost game again.  >_>

A regular battery by itself should only discharge around 15-20% a year, so use those if you can.

"Back off, man. I'm a scientist."

Your theories are the worst kind of popular tripe, your methods are sloppy, and your conclusions are highly questionable! You are a poor scientist. Especially if you think the moon landing was faked.

Off topic:
Culdacept Saga? How was that game. I was interested in it, but it looked sorta corny. Is it worth buying or should I wait for a bargain (Few months for $20 used)?

Why yes it does, mine turns itself on and touches my hands and controls my arms. Very wierd, almost as if its trying to take over me.

Mine work really good, I play very often, I dont recharge a lot, at least it doesnt hurt me when I play. I have 2 controllers, so when one runs out of batteries and I dont want to play with the cord, I recharge it and play with the other one, I can also charge my MP3 with it.

I think its a good thing Sony added these types of batteries in their controllers, other batteries pollute a lot, and dont last as much.

Call Sony and have it replaced. Controllers have a lifetime warranty.

Lol, actually (off topic), Sony is the most "green" friendly between Sony, Nintendo, and MS.

Nintendo is the worst....this should be a separate thread, but I'm afraid to post because I'll get flamed by all the Nintendo fans here.

Weren't you here for the series of threads dedicated to proving green peace is made up of idiots because they made up an entire report on Nintendo based off of "Information not provided."

You do know that if your PS3 is not on, the controller will not charge right? You might not be getting a full charge, I play my PS3 regularly and usually get about 12-14 hours of gametime before have to recharge, and my controllers are almost always on since when I'm not playing my PS3 I have it downloading stuff.
