Forums - Politics Discussion - Can Feminists Get Any More Desperate?

And since this thread is baiting for big emotional reactions and ridiculous statements I will make sweeping generalizations of my own now.

anyone who claims to be anti-feminist is a big baby. get over yourself - not everything is about you. shut up and listen to women who are trying to tell you their genuine concerns about a world that is probably alittle more dangerous for them then it is for you. You stupid big manby

Those are some bold statements. Out of curiosity, what information are they based on?

Well, the predominant and powerful arms of feminism are those that fall on what most would term the "radical" side of feminism. I wouldn't personally call them "man-hating fools", but certainly anti-equality in many ways and often have viewpoints or propositions which are harmful to men. These viewpoints are found first of all in all those horrible feminist holes on the internet, but this brand of feminism is also the kind seen on Universities, in large parts of the feminist news media (ie Jessica Valenti) and in the largest feminist organization NOW.

Again, these are the parts of feminism that hold the most power and are clearly the loudest voices, so why should we not say "these individuals and these groups and these viewpoints are representative of modern feminism"?

You argued the context of his point but you weren't able to actually answer the question. Instead you pointed out the more powerful arms of feminism which would imply that most people who classify themselves as feminists don't actually hold those views like the people in this thread seem to suggest.

There is no data to suggest that most feminists act upon or view the world in the manner presented in the video. These feminist extremist videos get shined upon more-so than most other feministic views due in large part to the radical nature of the presentation.

In the end I agree with you for sure, I just wanted to point out to the rest of the thread that it's illogical and unprogressive (in other words hypocritical) to simply account everyone's position based on a video by an extremist.

For every Feminazi there is one guy doing the oposite and fucking obsessed with them trying to label every feminist a crazy Feminazi. Both are sad as fuck. What we need is to stop giving attention to both of them.

I haven't met a feminist that wasn't an insufferable man-hater in 6 years, and I live in the single most liberal city in all of the South (it's practically California now).

I think you need to go out more then.

I do. But guess what? They still act like you are right now. And everytime you respond, it furthers my point.

Alright, so I think the message of this video points against bullying rather than against men in general, which is fine and reasonable, yet it's still very one-sided. She says "one thing always leads to another". Hmm, maybe she drove her man crazy because of her stupid behavior? We don't know, we only get her point of view. But knowing that one thing leads to another requires self reflection, doesn't it? There must be a reason why this man fell in love with her. There must also be another one why he got mad at her. Oh, and that party scene? She shouldn't get drunk like Boris Yelzin in the first place (but try telling that to a 14-year old...).

I think the point he was making is that it's hard to feel sorry for someone who intentionally puts herself in that situation.

I'm not comfortable with that justification. Just because someone decides to drink doesn't mean we should blame the victim for having a fun night. Rather than saying "well she should have known better" we should all be focusing our energy on the attacker in these situations.

As an aside, wtf is with the title of this thread. Come on with the baiting - I'm easily trolled, don't get me all riled up

Having a good time is one thing. But to inebriate yourself around others who are inebriated is to put yourself at risk. You can't drive drunk and get mad when you crash.

Most violence is committed by a man against a man.

Most verbal/mental abuse is committed by a woman against a woman.

Most rapists are men, but women forget that most men aren't rapists.

The problem is modern feminists get all three of these fudged. They believe that the smaller number of violent actions against women has a larger priority than the larger number against men. They believe that only men verbally and mentally abuse women, when it is almost exclusively amongst themselves. And they, of course, accuse all men of potentially being rapists despite common sense dictating that the rapist:man ratio is so insane that statistically speak they have no right to make such accusations.

1. Correct

2. Correct

3. Correct, but I'm pretty positive that most women don't view most men as rapists, unless you have data to prove otherwise. I point this out because judging from your earlier posts you seem to just generalize a population with no data to back it up.
