Forums - Gaming - Can someone tell me if this truely is The Ultimate TV for Gaming?

So I went to Best Buy today to scope out some Disney Infinity figures and I ran into this TV sitting on the floor. The words "The Ultimate TV for Gaming" stood out to me. I do need a new TV for one of my rooms. Old Panny is acting up. It's on sale, so wondering if it's a good deal and if it is what it says it is. What do you guys think?

If it isn't 4k and at least 60hz, then no.

I would go with a 4k myself, if not definitely a 3D. Even if you aren't going to use the 3D the additional horsepower in the TV allows for a better performance than not.

Yeah, if you're going to spend $800 on a tv, chances are you aren't going to want to spend another $800 on one when the next gen starts 3-4 years from now, and 4k will be a thing.

If you want low latency go with Samsung, they're currently the best in that regard.

That's good to know, I'm actually rolling around the idea of getting a 4k in the next year.

There is no info about the TV on the picture aside from screen size and resolution, so I can't really tell...

I'm not personally sure, but these benchmarks suggest otherwise.

Look at them. They're all 2014 or earlier models and all only FHD. FHD is naturally faster than 4k. Having only 21ms in latency at 4k is something only Samssung can do right now.
