Forums - Sales Discussion - Amazon US January monthly bestsellers and general Amazon-based discussion

Yes, is really sad, Final Fantasy XV, is one of the most awaited games of the decade and is on 960 place on Xbox One, i did not even knew that Amazon, had more than 960 games for pre-order.

As I said before, the PS4 version of Type-0 outsold the XB1 version 4 to 1 in the US/UK, two of the XB1's strongest markets. There's a possibility that the distribution of FFXV's sales will be even more lopsided because FFXV is the only JRPG the XB1 will have this year. Scalebound is delayed to 2017. Meanwhile, the PS4 will be getting these JRPGs for the first half of the year:

Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth - (Feb. 2)
Megadimension Neptunia VII - (Feb. 2)
The Witch and the Hundred Knight: Revival Edition - (March 1)
Nights of Azure - (March 29)
Fairy Fencer F Advent Dark Force - (Spring)
Odin Sphere Leifhrasir - (June 7)

The PS4 has the means to increase its JRPG fanbase before FFXV comes out while there is literally no incentive for JRPG fans to get an XB1. And after FFXV releases, what else is there for the XB1? Meanwhile, the PS4 will get Persona 5, Kingdom Hearts 2.8, SAO: Hollow Realization, Nier Automata, Tales of Berseria, World of Final Fantasy, etc. This leads me into wondering about the prospects of an XB1 version of FFXVI. If FFXV sales end up being as lopsided as Amazon (and Abdiel's assessments) suggests, it's quite possible that Square will skip the XB1 for the next mainline FF. PC and the Nintendo audiences are far more viable JRPG markets. Heck, Xenoblade X had a better debut than Rise of the Tomb Raider's.

Actually some Japanese, or even some RPG games sold a lot more on Playstation 4, than Xbox One, like Metal Gear Solid V, that sold 3 millions on Playstation4, and 600 thousands on xbox one, this is nearly 5 to 1 in favor of the Playstation 4.

and The Witcher, that were exclusive to PC, and Xbox, sold 3 Millions on playstation 4, and 1 million on Xbox One, the difference of sales are big, i hope that Xbox One, start buying those kind of games or otherwise the next games will not be on a Xbox, plataform.

And i dont remember what JRPG, tittle Xbox One, received since launch, i just remember a timed exclusive visual novel, but nothing more.

Of Course Final Fantasy XV, will sell much more copies on playstation, than on Xbox, because it already will out-sell the xbox sales in all the places of the World, also the game Mighty sell more than 2.5-3 Millions of copies on Japan alone, and Microsoft, dont have this market.

Just checking in to make sure that steamroller is still running.

So I think this is something you guys will definitely be interested in. I've actually been looking at the 'hourly' rankings between the PS4 and XB1 versions of FFXV and KHIII since Tuesday. The results are rather eye-popping.

Here were the rankings on Tuesday:

#8 FFXV PS4 version
#18 KHIII PS4 version
#356 FFXV XB1 version
#401 KHIII XB1 version

On Wednesday:

#9 FFXV PS4 (down 1)
#32 KHIII PS4 (down 14)
#356 FFXV XB1 (--)
#482 KHIII XB1 (down 81)

On Thursday:

#13 FFXV PS4 (down 4)
#55 KHIII PS4 (down 23)
#344 FFXV XB1 (up 12)
#624 KHIII XB1 (down 142)

Today:

#37 FFXV PS4 (down 24)
#84 KHIII PS4 (down 29)
#828 KHIII XB1 (down 104)
#960 FFXV XB1 (down 616)

This is interesting because despite Amazon taking 20% off preorders for Prime members, interest for the XB1 version of FFXV and KHIII has actually gone worse. I mean FFXV XB1 fell by a whopping 616 places for crying out loud. In contrast, the PS4 version of FFXV maintained constant interest from Tuesday through Thursday. Even though it dropped a lot today, it is still ahead of the XB1 Gears Bundle. Interest for the PS4 version of KHIII didn't peak as high nor lasted as long as FFXV, but it is still in the Top 100.

My reaction:

This. More Xbox fans should support these great games. But ti seems like most Xbox fans care about is Call of Duty
