Nay, it'll most likely sell 70-75m, which is amazing, but not enough to surpass PSP. It would need to be fully support at least until the end of 2017, and I think we all know 2016 is the last year for the little guy.



Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Seriously though, I need to change my prediction more. In another year, I think it could be bumped to 65 mil, but I still have my doubts it can pass the PSP in sales. If it does though, I'll just be all the more happy. I am a Ninten fan after all, haha...

It really depends on what Nintendo releases for it during this year, other than FE Fates and MP:FF (which might very well be deleted) we don't know anything other than the many, many, many, many Square Enix titles coming to the device. another key title will be the followup to Pokémon X and Y since if it's Z it will impact the 3DS sales consistently, while if it's X2/Y2 or XZ/YZ the boost in 3DS sales will be WAAAAAY higher....

Sadly I'd say with the current sales trajectory it won't. It would need another 4 years give or take, which I doubt it'll get. We can't really count on Japan, there it's already been very succesful, having beaten the GBA soundly and matched the PSP. The market has taken a huge hit in the west. I could see it get to 70m at most.

IKR! Even with how Smartphone gaming has dominated the gaming market itself, the 3DS ws managed to get close to the PSP. And will probably hit 40 - 45% of what the DS has done. That's pretty impressive.
