Interesting, I expected everyone to really say GC controller. XD
I have to definitely try out the other methods.

I thought classic would be best because it would be similar to GC but wireless. Sadly, Nintendo fucked up and you cannot control movement with the d-pad so I consider it worthless.
I love the wiimote sideways because it is so easy to teach non-gamers and no work to setup.
The GC controls are either wired or require AAA batteries which I cannot recharge :(

I really thought this as well. I might have to go back and try the Wiimote and Nunchuck again.

Wiimote and Nunchuck once you get use to it its really good

Nintendo Network ID: Sherlock99
It's hard for me to get used to the nunchucks but I'll eventually get used to it. The Wiimote alone is pretty good so far, I can beat up a LV3 CPU pretty easily, haven't tried further levels. I'm sure I can beat a LV5 CPU with that skill.
I'm currently trying the classic controller now. It's pretty good (Defeated a LV5 CPU) if you don't mind using the bottom left analog for the movement. Personally D-pad isn't a good idea for smash anyways IMO, but maybe that's just me.
I am starting to love the idea of using other controllers, it makes Brawl feel more different from Melee than it already is.
I've only tried the gamecube controller although I do plan on testing the wii-mote and buying a classic controller to test it out soon. The gc controller just feels soooo right after playing melee for so long. Smash really does worn down your controller :/

I prefer the Wiimote turned sideways also. I don't like using analog sticks for 2d games. I'm not sure why they didn't give the option to use the directional pad for movement on the GC or Classic controllers. I would love to use the Classic controller if that were made available. The directional pad on the Wiimote is tiny.
Wavebird for me, though I actually don't mind the Wii Remote only setup. The only one I haven't tried is the Classic Controller.
