Will we see a real (either 2D or a sequel to the Prime series) Metroid game announcement in 2016 ?

Yes. 59 38.82%

No. 72 47.37%

Someone think about F-Zero. 14 9.21%

Ridley4Smash 7 4.61%

Total:152

With Federation Force looking like crap, the disaster that was Other M, and the last quality Metroid game being over 8 years ago now, the series is in pretty dire straits. I'm not even sure I want a new one to be honest, as Nintendo seems to have no idea what to do with it anymore.

I have maybe positive view but in same time very possible views, no one my view is not unrealistic.

Saying that I would be very suprise if Star Fox Zero has just "length of movie" (I need to mention I am not referring to main campaign only, I referring to other content too), so that I would admit offcourse. I didn't said Zelda U will have exatly same TP numbers but similar, I expecting 6-7m, and I would very surprised if would sold less than 5m if come on NX too, so that I would admit of course. Of Course I will admit that I was wrong if we don't see announcement of Metroid Prime at E3 (also see poll in this thread, I am not only one), same like I admit for E3 2014 and 2015.

See this we can work with, at least the acknowledgement that we are both open to admitting fault.

Given your Starfox comments here, are you now open to the possibility that its main campaign will be movie length, like the original and 64?

We should. We should also see a hardcore F-Zero as well, but we won't.

I wouldn't be surprised if the rumor of Next Level Games working on a 2D Metroid along with Federation Force is true -- hell, I wouldn't be surprised if it were a launch title for the NX.  I also wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo went back to F-Zero with the NX if the unified library rumor is true since they'll have a lot of free time to work on dormant franchises without the burden of having to make two games for all of their major IPs.

What I could see happen  (if Nintendo doesn't listen to me and buy shin'en ç_ç) is the Mario Kart team releasing MK9 during either the first year or the second year of the NX since MK8 was released early last year, after/while dealing with DLC since they are the team that usually works on racing games and since they tried to go near what F-Zero speed is with 200cc they could develop the next F-Zero entry. That would be ideal for many reasons, first and formost the developers could take a break from always making the same kind of game...

There is always possibilities for anything, but I don't see in any case that main campaign will be movie length, like the original and 64 were, I would be very surprised in that case. Of Course I will admit that I was wrong if that is a case.
