Sony's first party games are by and large, very average. They've put out very few that I've really enjoyed, hoping horizon can join that list as a great one as it looks very interesting.

out of curiosity, which ones have you played and liked or didn't like?

Knack: All around terrible game, I like average platformers and I couldnt stand this.

Killzone: Started both the first and shadowfall, couldnt finish them. Am amazed that the first even got a sequel green lit for it as it was behind other shooters even for its time. Want to play killzone 2 and 3 though as I hear thats where its at.

Uncharted 1 and 2: Good games, just not god tier to me.

Last of Us: same as uncharted basically.

All of the infamous series: Enjoyable, even bought a ps4 for second son. Just not amazing games to me.

Ape escape series: love them, some of the best games sonys put out.

Twisted metal: Granted it was the lacking ps3 version, i hear black is the one to play and ill get around to that eventually.

Puppeteer: Also a very good game, in fact i find SCEJ tends to be the one that makes my favorite sony games.

Rachet and Clank: same as infmaous, I enjoyed them but they felt very samey very quickly. Been meaning to finsih of the future trilogy but got burnt out.

Littlebigplanet: BLow average platformers propped up by a superb creation toolset.

Jak and daxter series: first one is one of my favorite games ever, then sony felt the need to "mature" and change the franchise and it went south from there.

Sly cooper series: The first was another great platformer. Then 2,3,4 changed the series again for the worse. too much dialogue and time spent not playing the game for a platformer. Sometimes stopping gameplay to repea exactly what you need to do 3 times before letting you do it.  Some horrendous repetitive game padding in two as well.

Tearaway: GOTY 2013 for me.

ICO and SOTC: I see the appeal. Tried a few times to play them, never got engaged enough to go to far. Really wish I could enjoy them though as I like the concepts.

God of War: Just kind of average to me. Not bad. I have 3 and ascension but I honestly cant muster any interest in finishing the series.

Invizimals: good concept and I like collecting monsters, but so far from pokemon quality.

Unit 13: Average game, actually had some fun with it though more than some of sonys other more highly regarded titles.

Soul sacrifice and freedom wars: Ill put them together as they suffer the same flaws. Basically they just arent as good as monster hunter. Tried new systems for getting and upgrading weapons to be different just for the sake of it, neither system really worked well imo. Freedom wars really suffered from a lack of monster designs.

The order 1886: Initial concept seemed interesting and I thought initially it looked like it could be good. Then the game actually showed its true form, 5 hours playtime with half being barely interactive and the rest sticking behind the same piece of cover with scripted waves of enemies coming at you.

Medievil: Ill take another one thank you.

Patapon: Not too bad. Not great either. Might not be my thing I guess.

Sorry about the long post, figured i should at least show that I have experienced a lot of sony games that have shaped my opinion lol.

That Sony's push towards "cinematic" games is a cancer that is degrading gaming as a medium.

This is why I don't like too many Sony first party games out side of naughty dog games (although you can argue TLOU). Same reason why I didn't care for Alan Awake and pretty sure I won't care for Qunatum Break.

You can't first say that of all Sony's games, you only like Naughty Dog's games, then say you think Sony's push towards cinematic games is a cancer to gaming, because the only Sony first party that makes anything that can be called "cinematic games" is Naughty Dog. You're contradicting yourself.

He wants always online DRM to succeed, reasoning is a waste of time.

I think the uncharted series is by far naughty dog's worst IP

That 3rd party games aren't all broken.

BioShock is the most bored I've ever been with a AAA game
Everything Rockstar, Naughty Dog, and Bethesda's main team do is overrated
MGS4 is the most disappointing sequel of all time
Zelda's popularity makes no sense to me, haven't been bothered to finish a single one of them
MS should have stuck with their original plan for the Xbox One
Indies are, by and large, terribly mediocre games that get way more praise than they have any right to
Developers need to listen to LESS community feedback, gaming communities are a cesspool of stupidity
Microtransactions, if handled well, are actually good for gaming
JRPGs are, with few exceptions, inferior to WRPGs in almost every way imaginable
Today's Valve is pretty much the greedy money grabbing machine that everyone says MS is
Rare was never that good
Zombies suck, enough with the zombies

I guess it's that there is too much sexism in games.

“The fundamental cause of the trouble is that in the modern world the stupid are cocksure while the intelligent are full of doubt.” - Bertrand Russell

"When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace."

Jimi Hendrix

Ocarina of Time - tried to play a lot of times back on N64 and several years ago on 3DS. Unbelievably boring.
Current Xbox consoles dashboard is so unconvenient and ugly, so I stopped to use my X360 after dashboard update in 2011 (as I remember). That square design is so damn ugly, so then I cant use Xbox anymore. Very strange, I know, but thats true.

The N64 was great because of Rare, it was the console for shooters with Perfect dark/Golden Eye, it had Diddy kong racing/Conker/Killer instinct/banjo etc...Without Rare N64 the number of games that are worth it probably goes down to less than 10.

-The Last of Us isn't a masterpiece. Reason: It does nothing that hasn't been done better elsewhere except characters. It does most things great and some things horrible (puzzles for example). The story is a giant cliché from any other zombie/post-apocalyptic movie (The Road, Children of Men). The A.I. is pretty bad. The only thing deserving of the masterpiece title in the game should be the opening because that is different and masterfully done. I think it got such high praise because nothing else in 2013 was great, making it stand out.

- Post-Nintendo Rare was still great (until Kinect Sports). Reason: Can't speak for Perfect Dark Zero but Viva Piñata and Kameo were great games with great critical response even. Even Banjo & Kazooie: Nuts 'n Bolts wasn't that bad (if you consider it a spin-off more than a 'next entry' in the series). Everybody thinks their glory days stopped when they were bought up but going with the games they made even back then, not all of their games were masterpieces. The same can be said here, they've had hits and misses (three misses with Kinect Sports though). Lastly, alot of people seem to have another definition of what a Rare-game is, some wont consider Kameo, Viva Piñata or Sea of Thieves to be Rare-games because it's not Banjo & Kazooie or Conker as if they only see them as Platformer-developers. Rare has always done all kinds of genres and Sea of Thieves is no different

Pretty much.

The only other would be what? Guerrila with Killzone maybe? Already moving as well...

They could refer to The Order 1886, Until Dawn, David Cage *almost barfing while typing his name*, Killzone
