Wii- 72 million 3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases
360- 37 million Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak
PS3- 29 million Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

Coincidently thats about the time that Mario Party games stopped being developed by Nintendo themselves and were handed over to Hudson for development.
Once Ninty stopped making them they started sucking, and pretty much have ever since.

It's not at all surprising that the first icon of the modern video game is still the most popular. He's only had, what, 27 years to gain his popularity? Master Chief doesn't even have a quarter of that behind him yet, and Sony doesn't even have a consistent iconic mascot to speak of.
Quite frankly, I'd be thoroughly amazed if Mario were to slip into obscurity, especially in a generation where the cards keep getting dealt in Nintendo's favor...

Nintendo and gamers have a great little arrangement going. We buy their games with Mario in the title, they make sure that they're games worth getting.
