''Time doesn't matter anyway, unless they pick the game of my choice of course''

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

Monolith soft definitely got a little bit more out of its comfort zone and rocked it. Other games that have been mentioned have not done the same.

Exactly. That's just one guy's opinion and the OP makes it sound like Time Magazine handed them an official award or something.

I only copied and pasted a small portion (there's a ton of paragraphs so they went into detail) what was on the article ;o
Didnt put any of my opinions of it since I havent played the game myself so ya I didnt say anythin ;O
Also my RPG of the Year is FFType-0 HD but I aint salty :p |
But it's just one person claiming that this is the best RPG not the entire magazine unless he is the only one working there.
The title of the thread should be "Time Magazine's reviewer Matt Peckham proclaims the best RPG of 2015 is Xenoblade."
Also i haven't played any of this years RPG's so i don't really care what RPG of the year is.

We can agree to disagree then.
What? They spelt witcher 3 wrong.
I need a WiiU to play this game though. In all seriousness.
I love how with the exception of one or two, the people who have issue with this have no intentions of touching the game.

If you're talking about me, all I did was point out that this is not an award from Time, it's just the reviewer giving his opinion. The people who are congratulating the game seem to have misunderstood.
As an aside, the writer's #1 game for 2015 as of Dec. 1 was Prune. I wonder if he's going to change that now?
For reference, here was his list
1 Prune
2 Rise of the Tomb Raider
3 The Phantom Pain
4 Her Story
5 The Witcher 3
6 Super Mario Maker
7 Ryan North's To Be or Not to Be
8 Batman: Arkham Knight
9 Undertale
10 Splatoon

JRPG's are not traditional RPG's. Traditional RPG's are played by rules similar to D&D which makes Witcher and the Fallout closer to traditional RPG's in purpose and intent. The only thing JRPG's do like traditional RPG's is use a turn based system. True RPG's are ruled by a DM which challenges player choice in a world their decisions affect. They battle, level up and gain assets while making their mark on that world. JRPG's are generally linear stories, which give you no control over the world and even if they did its slight.
