If so, then I guess I made a mistake in the audience the Wii is going after. However, we know that's not true, and we know the Wii goes after parents, old people, kids, etc. who normally don't play games a lot. That's not a generalization...it's the truth. It's been stated over and over and over again, amongst VGC users, amongst electronic journalist websites (Reuters, Gizmodo, etc) and amongst the people that actually own one. You may be in the minority that actually enjoy the games that try to push the Wii to the limits (Zack and Wiki, No More Heroes) in terms of gameplay amongst "gamers"....but we know that it's the minority because those kind of games sell low, while Carnival Games, Cooking Mama, and Mario and Sonic Olympics sells millions. With that said, if the console goes after people who don't play games that much, what makes you think that these people are going to sit down for hours on end and create big, extraordinary levels? Gebx says that creativity isn't a strong point of PS3 owners, but according to the mainstream mentality, PS3 owners are only hardcores who devote themselves to games all the time....seems like it's those kind of people who would be more interested in making levels than the grandma that says "I never played videogames before, but I LOVE to waggle in Wii sports" And you guys say that the PS3 doesn't have an online community? PSN is robust, to say the least, as of now, and Home will only make that way better. Now, as to not derail the thread, like I said, it's great that Joystiq is using VGC, as it shows that this site is gaining popularity....I just hate when they try and add little snippet shots (hoping people won't catch them) at the PS3 when they don't have to. |
