Forums - Gaming - What is your idea of a perfect game?

Hmm, for me, a perfect game is just one of those games that has no flaws. Everything about it is excellent, perfected, and timeless. A game that can be played and enjoyed regardless of time is a perfect game.

Examples : Super Mario Bros 3 , Super Mario World , Chrono Trigger, Mega Man X, Undertale

Skipped the op. Just read the title.

For me, the perfect game does everything it sets out to do very well. It's easy to learn but it's obvious to tell a skilled player from a novice. That's pretty much it. Gonna have voice acting? Do it well or not at all. Gonna have a driving section? Don't make it frustrating. Make it fun.

Do whatever your vision is without making it a chore to play and you have my vote.

I've played games I found perfect before, but that's besides the point.

1) Genre  RPG

2) Story or lack of it  Naruto storyline.

3) Art style  Anime

4) Battle system or gameplay mechanics  Kind of like Skyrim, but way better.

5) Tone: serious, comical, informative, etc.  Serious, with comical.

6) Platform of release (if you care)  PS4 or PC  (has to support VR)

7) Being developed by X dev team (as in to assure it's quality by the trust you personally have on them)  Whoever can make the game.

8) input device (classic controller, motion control, etc.)   Motion control

9) Length   10000 hours.

10) Type of ending (the manner you'd like the game to end in order for it all the be satisfying)  Whatever way the player allows it to end.

11) Type of protagonist   Made up character  + Naruto good guys or Naruto bad guys.

12) Type of antagonist   Made up character + Naruto bad guys or Naruto good guys.

It's just a hunch, but I think you like Naruto.

Not sure how you get that impression....

Nah.

I really love the first part, and it kind of went a little downhill after that.

And then it back up a little.

And then I watched something else.

I was very much into it until the filler with Kakashi and the kids trying to expose his face. After all that ended and his face wasn't shown, ending up accomplishing nothing, I felt so cheated I said fuck it.

I've seen some episodes from Shippuden and there are some nice fights though.

My idea would be, A balance between stories. and have a multiplayer and coop with replay ability. whens the last game we had that lol.

To me the perfect rpg is the first Xenoblade: it has a great and beautiful world, fun combat, interesting plot ,a nice cast of characters, great and colorful art-style and a fantastic soundtrack. To me the fetch quests weren't a problem because they are completely optional and I didn't have to do them to advance through the story and there are still some good side quests.
Going by my user name you'd think that I'd mention a KH game but Xenoblade is SO amazing that it surpasses my KH fanboyism.

You're darn right!

I really need to!

I thought it was a funny little episode.

It pissed me off beyond belief.

It was all for nothing.

1) Genre

Business Simulation about console wars.

2) Story

Doesn't need any story as I am making that myself.

3) Art Style

As realistic as possible. But it doesn't need to much graphics anyway. A shitload of excel tables would be good enough.

4) Gameplay mechanics

I want the simulation of the full blown console business. I want to develop my very own console with all the little details, make deals with third parties for games, fund games with my own studios etc. Also I want the game to take Re-Releases, Remasters, Multiplatform and all that shit into account. It needs to be a very deep, complicated simulation with as many variables as possible. Not that dumbed down shit like Game Dev Story. The games fun, but only for so long. What I want is a realistic simulation of the actual game business.

5) Tone

Mostly realistic, but with some humor here and there.

6) Platform

PC/Mac/Linux, there's no other platform where this would be possible.

7) Developer

Don't care too much.

8) Input device

Mouse and Keyboard, everything else would be useless.

9) Length

Infinite.

10) Type of ending

I don't want no ending, I want the game to continue indefinitely.

11) Protagonist

Me and my game company!

12)Antagonist

All the other game companies! =D

I know a lot of people would argue with me on this, but the game I always get reminded of when thinking about what a perfect game means to me is Skyward Sword, and that is because personally, one of the things I like the most about games is their ability to get you immersed in its world, characters, etc in a way that movies and such simply cannot mimic.

The level of immersion and pure fun I had with that game was the biggest I've ever had while playing a videogame, and to me that is because of how everything blended so well in that the music, artstyle, gameplay and story were simply so good for me to find any issues with it.

Most of the flaws people have with this game, like the motion controls and how the overworld was ''small and linear'' weren't a problem at all to me, and that's something that I can't say about, say, Twilight Princess, which I thought had an unnecessarily big map and felt like it was a good game but it was still missing something to make it special.

Sorry for only using Zelda as an example, but that's the franchise that gets the closest to being perfect imo, even if it has its flaws (Like any other series). Also, I hope you guys can understand what I tried to say, I'm not a native speaker so my english skills aren't the best =P

And that is exactly why it is my favorite video game of all time. :)

I respect yours opinions and Skyward Sword is great game, but personally I find it was too linear, has criminal backtracking and Fi is too annoying.
