Forums - Gaming - Given the episodic nature of FFVII Remake, how do you think the exclusivity with Sony will be managed?

This timed exclusive thing will be bad for FVII:R. Expect a decline in the fanbase.

Nah, FFVII fans will buy whatever platform the game will release on.

I expect e1 to release in 2017.... As a ps4 exclusive

if I was a betting man, I'd say it's only coming to PS on consoles and probably soon after to PC

Most likely will be ported to PC

Probably would pick #1 so they can have a collectors bundle for all the episodes for other systems in order to increase interest in the game

Ep 1 to come first to PS4, then months after to PC. Later, every episode on both devices.

I expect some kind of timed deal, it may even come to Xbox eventually... Despite how the game will easily perform the best in terms of sales on PlayStation, FFVII is also an attempt to revitalize interest in JRPG's as the genre is not what it used to be in Square's eyes and FFVII would be one of the most iconic titles to try and do it... I fully expect anything that can play the game will get the game at some point.

Not to mention that, story alone, it is more the Xbox fandom's cup of tea than FFXV is... we're firmly on the "Sci-Fi" scheme of things, so a more sci-fi game like FFVIIR will perform better than the fantasy heavy FFXV...

the 1st episode would be timed exclusive to PS4. then after 6 months it would come to other consoles.
2nd, 3rd, etc. would not be timed exclusive. SE wants profit and they can get better profits in releasing in all available platforms than PS4.
Gone are the days of 3rd party exclusives to certain console. content maybe, but not the whole game. it is a different ball game nowadays. HD development costs too much to be a console exclusive.

It's still killing me that they're in parts anyway. I'd wait for all of them to be released at once. But no, it'll be on PC and XBone but like a year or so after the final part....that'd kinda suck though.
