Sadly, shovelware sells, and devs prefer money to good games... I still miss the PSOne days. Sony's next console and killing of their retrograde "dating sims and visual novels are not games" policies might allow me to jump back in...

Can both of you take your fanboyhat and go somewhere else with your nonsense? I suggest IGN.

Not all of it is shovelware, but there is a lot of that in the system...

I don't know what you're talking about but then I remember this from you:

You: "I don't mind obscure games, but there's an obvious difference between those and shovelware."

Hiku: "Then why do you avoid a whole console rather than just avoiding those games?"

You: "So that I do not benefit those devs and as an statement to Sony to raise their standards. What happened to the likes of Legend of Legaia, Chrono Cross and Bloody Roar? Why is everything nowadays Hakuoki, Omega Quintet and Neptunia? What happened to the Atelier series?"

Yeah I mean that's right by buying a ps4 you benefit all devs who made a shovelware game for the ps4, because they get money from sony from people just buying the console, but only the devs who made shovelware.

The good devs do too, but they will be alright without the money. It's an statement.

There is more than enough games on PS4 that are good,so stop this nonsense.

Considering I don't really care much for what Sony brings to the table, I don't think Microsoft or Nintendo should change anything.

You know that's a lie. Sony has been releasing nothing but shovelwares on their console and is only money hatting the big publishers to make it seems they have AAA games on their console. You know this has been happening since the PS2.

How can that type of company not go bankrupt in the near future?!

Yeah f@ck business! f@ck consumerism! Stupid things are killing off games.

Why would you even consider that? What kind of nonsense is that talk?!

Please I already have N4G for that. ;)

Microsoft already made their comeback, considering Xbox 360 was THE console to have last gen, it started out rough this gen for them. But now, they've made Xbox One was it should've been in the first place, had the strongest exclusive lineup, true backward compatibility, and are bringing many new IP's in 2016. Sales are nearing 20,000,000 in 2 years, Microsoft is just fine, and should continue doing what they are doing.

Nintendo just needs more third party support, and to give people more incentive to buy their console. Maybe a more robust online component, and less focus on Nintendo games if that makes sense.

GC levels is still bad

How so?  Financially?  Relative to PS sales?

relative to what a healthy console is supposed to sell, 20mil aint it.

Since Sony is basically sitting on the hopes and dreams of Xbone and Nintendo, I think Sony can potentially make their lead bigger.

All they need to do is give up on the phone industry. They simply can't do well there. Huawei and Oneplus managed to rise up against phone giants such as Apple, Samsung, and LG, but Sony simply couldn't do so. If they gave up on the phone industry and focused more on Playstation, who knows what type of success they'll reach soon?

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

A monopoly?

Gaming is dead the moment MS leaves the race...

The best thing that could happen for us gamers,is that the industry came up with a joint standard, because what's happening now,is just a split up of the same crowd. The competition should be in the games, and possibly services, not in hardware(except maybe accessories and stuff) The days are gone when you could find significant differences in hardware, because they use all roughly the same parts today.

The gaming market was doing well without 'em. Most likely, another company would take the opportunity to fill that gap. During the PS2 era, it wasn't a monoply with it's sales.
