Forums - Sony - GT6 sales Total 4.71 million units

People need to realize that GT6 sold poorly because it released too close to PS4's release which was a huge mistake. It was also underwhelming a bit in a sense that GT5 was already very good. GT6 just looked like a polished GT5. The IP might have tanked a bit but it's still very popular and all they need to do is make use of the PS4's power and it will sell bonkers again. I haven't played GT6 and didn't even buy it (despite owning all the precedent GTs) but just the thought of GT and the power of the PS4 combined makes me super excited again.

Now... it's poliphony... they will find a way to screw something up and people will complain again.

Just buy GT6, it's very good... and with promotions it's very well worth it

Too bad they didn't wait and release it for PS4, instead of PS3.

If GT6 were a release window PS4 game how much more would it have costed to dev and take advantage of PS4 (since they wouldn't be able to use the same engine) and how many PS4 games have sold 5M, more yet how many games on launch sell that much? Games on release must be the ones that would benefit from lack of competition to become relevant and wouldn't cost too much to profit on lower numbers, none of those are applicable to GT. I very much doubt GT6 would have sold more as PS4 title... but sure they could have ported it.

They should have, but in regards to being a PS3 title, it did fine all things considered.

honestly it was not necessary, most people thought it was more wise to have it as a PS4 game and I would agree, and yeah I think it could have sold more on PS4 than on PS3.

See answer above.

What delusion?

That Forza XB1 games would sell 8M this gen. The franchise is already seeing fatigue. That's not going to happen unless they move to PC.

I see more delusion in this post. There is no fatigue for the Forza franchise. The Forza XB1 games will reach 8 million this gen, hell with Forza 5, Horizon 2,and Forza 6 alone it already pass 4 million without digital sales included. With Horizon 3 likely release next year it will add another million then Forza 7 will add another million.....correction 2 million without digital. So no it doesn't need PC to reach 8 million, I don't think it will be available for PC at all.

Proud to be a Californian.

GT6 should have been remastered for PS4 and could have turned the tides considering the concept cars available. A lot of remasters have made their way on to the ps4 with successes.

Needing to add 5 Forza iterations to get to GT numbers shows the difference between the franchises.

Yeah it's largely the same 1.5-2m people buying each one and as someone says it's getting badly fatigued.

And I forgot to say it's to keep up with a very low sale GT. But we will never hear the end of why GT owners are dumb, that it don't have the same tweaks (like I want to exchange simulation capability for paintjobs).
