I can safely say my jaw dropped. I don't think anyone truly expected her to win. Good for Platinum. And Sakurai did a great job on her design as well. I mean, now any old IP can get in Smash regardless of prestige and legacy, but that's a problem for another game.
When Sakurai talks about the amount of content this game has, I noticed how much work do they put in this game. It's outstanding. Yeah, I know some of the content are paid DLC, but who cares when the initial content was just soooo much.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

Her inclusion can still drive interest for the game, it's still available for purchase.
Regardless, this is a great thing for fans of the series and that's what matters most.

Well they did say out of all the applicable characters she was the most voted, so in that aspect there's really no problem :)

Actually I would bet money the top 4 were stuff like Goku, Shrek, Master Chief, etc etc etc that can't be in the game for head slappingly obvious reasons but trolls or thick people voted for them anyway :P . Ridley might have been up there, top 10 probably.
