Well this isn't something that can be disagreed with. :L

their is at least one in here trying to defend it, which prompted my initial post.

They are embarrassments, and have done great damage to the reputations of their respective series' and to Nintendo themselves. The fact that these games are basically not selling is of course suitable punishment for Nintendo, hitting them right where it hurts - in the back pocket. And no, I'm not letting them get away with Devil's Third either. NoA didn't even want to publish it, and as I've said before, they should've just stuck to their guns on that rather than this brush it under the carpet release. |
Can spin-offs really affect the main series' reputations? I mean, it's like its a mainline Animal Crossing game or something. The board game is a game that the director (who co-directed New Leaf, mind you) decided to use amiibos as a centerpiece. It apparently didn't work out as well because it wasn't a fun board game (though I haven't played it so I can't judge it well).
Nintendo has made mediocre games before in the past. I'm sure everyone will remember Wii Music, right?
I do somewhat agree that Devil's Third should've been better supported by NoA, but I can understand why they decided otherwise due to the various flaws of the game.

Well if we want to get really technical, he's only defending the game for what it is, he never said it was better than past games. The previous installments being superior is the fact that can only be accepted otherwise denial. Whether or not Ultra Trash should be defended is the matter of opinion, though I guess we'd both say it shouldn't be, so yeah, I guess we do agree.
AC amiibo festival is super cute but it doesn't look fun.
Mario tennis is actually fun, but lacks content.
The problem I see with those games is the price. If they were $25 they would be seen differently, I guess.
They would have the same flaws but at least they would be priced appropriately.
You sure love Devil's Third spurgeonryan! I don't like fps but maybe this one is different, though I played Ninja gaiden 3 on wii u and didn't like it. I couldn't even kill the first "boss", that's how bad I am at these games haha.

waiting for 20~30$ devil thirds and mario tennis eshop sale.
animal crossing ill completly skip.
All of them aren't worthy of Nintendo's status but what can you do? Nintendo's just filling the Wii U with stuff right now, as for Devils' Third...I dunno what to say.

I'm almost sure the three games will bomb hard, so that'll teach Nintendo not to release rushed games to the market, and not to fund rubbish games. At least I hope so. The three games must be an embarassment to Nintendo. |
That's the sad part, I can see Mario Tennis selling decently on brand name alone, which will send the message to Nintendo that its okay to churn out half-baked tripe.

I sincerely hope not. Fans have the opportunity to send a message with these games, and I hope people don't screwed this up. At least, the Animal Crossing brand name wasn't enough to keep it bombing. I'm waiting the same for Mario Tennis. But, well, let's see what happens next. Opinions on forums and internet are not precisely positive, but that doesn't reflect the general market.
