Since Hajime Tabata – Director of Final Fantasy XV (FFXV) has re-confirmed that the Final Fantasy XV pre-beta is completed, Team Amanz.net quickly addressed the current hot-of-the-stove rumour about FFXV getting a PC port. In his own words: “Not at all”.

Word on the grapevine had been insistent that FFXV would get a PC port since the game is, essentially, made on the PC. This unconfirmed and unsubstantiated piece of information came about when Tabata confirmed on Twitter that the game has passed its pre-beta phase.

Tabata had this to say when he had been prompted with the announcement: “Really?! Where did you hear this? If anything, it is a misunderstanding. There will be no PC port. We never planned for it. The game is originally developed on the PC first and what we said was how the pre-beta works very smoothly on the PC and now optimisations are being made (just like any beta testing would be like) for the consoles. Please do not misunderstand.”

“IF a PROPER PC version is to be made, then many changes have to be made and a lot of things have to be reconsidered before such a move can be made.”"

So yeah, no PC version. Possibility is still there but it's probably going to be in 5 or so years after. LOL.

Do you really think its going to take them 5 years to optimise the game for PC?. More like 1 year after the console versions would be just about right to release a DX12 version of the game to try get people to double dip just like with GTA5.

What was the last Final Fantasy game that took SE 5 years to release on PC after its console version?. thats the question you should be asking yourself .

FF13 took 4 years to be released on PC. The other games last FF13 game took around 2 years If I remember correctly, and that's because it benefited from an already optimized engine.

If you are going by history then you are the one who should be asking yourself why it will take 1 year only this time around.

The fact is, you are just hoping here. Enjoy the wait.

And your reasoning is ridiculous anyway. Superior version? lol.

I might as well not buy any game now and wait for next gen remasters. I might as well skip next-gen and wait for the inevitable 4K emulation in the future. Or why not aim for 8k? Because you know, playing the superior version is what really matters.

If FF15 is a good game, I ain't waiting for shit, PS4 it is. I already die inside a little everyday knowing bloodborne is out there waiting for me

And btw, that Tabata interview is questionable, I lurk gaming websites all day and I only came across it here. amanz.net? What is that..

First of all the question was not to you. and also you answered the question pretty good yourself for why it wont take 5 years, and its the same reason like you said that Lighting returns didnt take 5 years. Cos the game benefits from an already optimized engine!.

Fact is SE has been getting faster with releasing their games on PC compared to last gen with each release coming quicker.

Even rise of Tomb Raider will be coming to PC before the PS4 version .

And no where did i say my reasoning is "Superior version". I said "I" dont mind waiting for what will clearly be the Superior version when it does release. Even if that did take 5 years (But we know it wont) i dont mind waiting cos i already have so many other games i need to finish. I wasnt saying this is what everyone should do so i dont know where you are getting that from.

Now if you dont mind go back on about your day and dont be answering other peoples questions cya..

It's an open discussion and everyone is welcome to join. I have questioned your understanding of the purpose of the forums earlier in this thread and I'll do so again, this is an open discussion and everyone is welcome to chime in.

And no, we certainly don't know if it will take 5 months or 5 years to be released on PC. As for Tomb Raider, yay for PC gamers? Me included

Too bad though, I have little interest in the game.

The game is being developed with the Luminous engine which is still in development with FFXV. They seem to be focusing on making it work perfectly on a console for now as with the game. With how Tabata sounded in his answers to the possibility of a PC version, I'm thinking it's no where near a priority to them to have it on the PC. So I wouldn't bet on a short wait until the PC version or wait at all for it.

It's the same with FF13. The PC release of the first game was, like the other user said 4 or so years after the initial release. The succeeding games had a shorter wait as they have already developed and learned on how to optimize the engine and the game for PC. But even when they released the first game for PC, it still had a lot of shortcomings and wasn't even near to being a great port.
