Forums - Sony - THEORY: Tekken no more after 7, being reborn as something else! updated OP

Check this out: In October harada was asked about TxSF and why we have not heard about it. He claimed that the roster the models and animtaion were complete but he was looking for a way to reintroduce the fighter back into the minds of gamers since in was announced 5 years ago. He also said he was looking to surpise gamers and the that the game may not be called TxSF anymore.

I was thinking Tekken 7 concludes the Mishima saga, but whats next? some just assumed another generation jump

but what if the next series that follows Tekken is not Tekken but a new series that focuses on the combined world of Tekken and  street fighter with Akuma in Tekken being the prelude to that??

Amazing job blending Street fighter into Tekken

The gameplay part looks really nice too, I'm excited for Tekken 7. But it's strange that Akuma looks like he will be a main part of the story.

Akuma being in the game is not THAT big, but actually including him as part of Tekken world is. What does that mean?

Of course it's big, he is not even on Street Fighter V yet, and now we know why.

But yeah, he is part of the story, so Tekken and Street Fighter share the same world.

But how does we never got anything from them involved on each other before? (obviously because it was just made now, but in the sense of the world of the games).

This may bring a disbelief huge whole to both games stories, can they explain it?

Hes not in SFV because hes participating in KoF7. Is that what they're really going for? Thats awesome if that is true, but maybe we're looking to deep?

Disregard.

You are thinking too much into it.

People who say its a new generation or a different set of characters have it right. But that is always a risky path as Soul Calibur V showed. It could also just be a new IP of fighting game.

It will not be a SFxT series, unless that title is sucessful and Capcom is up for that. SFxT wasnt that well received... so, i dunno. I would much rather capcom did a new set of Capcom vs SNK.

Actually, i get quite excited just thinking about Capcom vs SNK 3 with SFV's engine and SvC Chaos 2 on the KoFXIV engine.

I like the idea of a series change since the Mishima turmoil feels like it's getting a bit old. Tekken is one of my favorite fighting series and I'm pretty open for a change on focus of the series with returning and new characters. My guess is that a bunch of fans will hate that the game is not called Tekken anymore and bash it relentlessly and complain without giving the game a chance.
