I love it when people discuss the acquisition of personnel/studios as if they're merchandise and not fully functional human beings with control over their own future.

I would also say, buy more Japanese studios. For example, by YSnet and have Yu Suzuki make Shenmue 3 with a full budget!

I think they should focus on building stronger 2nd party relationships before whipping out the checkbook. The whole Ready at Dawn fiasco, as well as several past relationships with studios that seemingly "ended" just didn't seem right to me.

My suspicion is that we'll start seeing Sony expanding its line up of first party studios in 2017, once the PS VR is out and the PlayStation division is no longer investing as much money into hardware.

We know that one of the next projects for From after Dark Souls III is Bloodborne II, so they seem like a possible candidate (plus, Bloodborne and Demon's Souls are way better than Dark Souls. Screw the haters.)

Nippon Ichi could be a possible contender. They have a very close relationship with Sony.

Kojima is probably too high profile.

Insomniac seems intent to stay independent.

Housemarque and Quantic Dream seem like fairly safe bets.

Its bad enough that Psygnosis died because of you Sony. Just focus on making your own studios.
