PS4 is doing remarkably well. It seems that if you give multiplat developers an easy console to develop for and give gamers the best experience (resolution bump/fps bump - no mater how small) in multiplats, then you can really dominate.

Exclusive content seems to be an old fashioned way of moving hardware. If Nintendo learns from this they could really do well with NX.

I'm going to assume it's a gimmicky underpowered piece of garbage though. Then I won't be disappointed if it is.

OG XB was not only more powerful it was also easier to develop for than the PS2.

Guys ZhugeEX just (yesterday) confirmed Wii U hit 11million units sold.
Is it possible VGC has the Wii U slightly overtracked? by like 200k units?

Sorry. That was a mistake on my part. I was reporting from VentureBeat who accidently confused Wii U sales with Amiibo sales. They have now corrected the article.

I'm not sure if PC+PS4 can save it. It will sell considerably better, yes, but I don't think the IP will die, it'll be put back on ice to be rebooted yet again years down the line. If anything, the failure this game for Xbox One is probably the scarecrow that'll keep major pubs from giving timed exclusive AAAs to MS in the future.

TBH I think they should remake the original Tomb Raider. Tweak the controls, but don't overhaul them. I would totally buy it. I almost finished the original game but I got stuck on the final part so never quite finished it. I really liked the over all gameplay of the original games more than the action style of these reboots. Not saying that the reboots are bad, I enjoyed the 2013 game quite a bit, but not as much as I enjoyed the PS1 games. Remake the game with The Order 1886 graphics and I think people would buy it in huge numbers.

Which part?  Sliding down/out of the mountain after defeating the boss?

True - PS2 had the best exclusives back then (GTAIII etc). But that's what I meant by it being an old fashioned way of moving hardware. It hasn't worked since the PS2 days. I think if you launched something that much more powerful than a PS4 now and marketed it right (another one of Nintendo's weak points) you could do really well. Also, just like the OG XB, they'd be behind the 8-ball by launching so much later than the PS4. I doubt they can outsell it, but they can do so much better than the Wii U.

Ahh... my bad then. I didnt read that part. Sorry for misqouteing you then.

And thats good news for the Wii U, it needs every sale it can get.

So did the ps4 outsell the Wii U by over 6:1?

Unlikely, the problem will be catering to the lowest common denominator (right now, that's the XB1...since the Wii U is being overlooked for allot).  If the NX is much more powerful than the PS4, it won't matter, because devs won't utilize the power.  By that point, the PS4 will have a commanding lead, so they'll likely use that as the lead platform, and then port to the others.

It's unfortunate though, it'd be nice if devs tailored games to each hardwares strengths, but they don't.  They put extraordinary effort into making each version of the game, as close to the other platforms performance as possible.  Nintendo, imo, would be best served by getting some 3rd parties working on exclusive titles, if that's the case.  Multi-plats simply won't utilize that extra power in any meaningful way.

I don't remember now, not even sure I defeated the boss...or am I thinking about TR2? Which is the one where the game ends up back at Lara's family mansion?

Boss was a massive mutant thing, with no lower half of his body on a platform that you had to perpetually just flip around the place (while shooting, obviously, it took a TON of ammo).  TR2's boss was the dragon thing produced by that person stabbing themselves in the heart w/ the dagger.  I can't remember if you go back to the mansion in TR1, though I think you may, but it's just for the novelty of running around...I could be wrong though.
