Forums - Gaming - My view of the PS4 VS PC debate

What about the debate on most "PC exclusives" coming to consoles? Lol. It's a two way street. Even western crpgs (wasteland, divinity, sword coast) have come, never would have thought that years ago. I for one am glad I'll be able to play Killing floor 2 on ps4, and I don't think those that play it on PC will enjoy it less because of that

Why does it ened to be a vs thread though?.

I also don't get the most part, I mean PC doesn't have gens and has been going as a singular platform for decades now with the platform having ammased an insane amount of games that are still stuck to it after all these years, I'd think you mean most recent titles than say titles from a decade or 2 ago, especially on a single gen since that's how we go for consoles as users move from one gen to another.

I'm glad we get to play plenty of games across multiple plats in the end, I'm glad I'll be able to play some One Piece games on my rig along with some JRPG's and the odd VN.

So you are annoyed about terms like "PC master race" (which is used more often by console gamers to ridicule PC gamers than by PC gamers themselves), but in the next sentence you are glorifying the "physical master race". Double standards?

So lead by good example and stop the "physical master race" crap, it's also really annoying.

Yes.

"Stop arguing with each other and enjoy games"

"Its great that both PS4 and PC are getting these games as it means more sales for the creators and means more people get to enjoy them on more platforms"

"Just because it is releasing on PC doesnt mean future games will stop releasing on PS4"

"Console exclusive wars are pretty much over for this gen considering where the sales are right now and where its going"

Thanks! This means I'm in agreement with this video. After seeing the word "rant" I thought this was going to be a bashing of either the PS4 or PC.

No i dont bash the pc or ps4 i do hate those "pc master race"asses and the "consoles are dead" crap.

What about all the type on consoles that keep claiming PC gaming is dead/dying all the time?, especially at the start of each gen and near the end.

PC VS PS4 debate just shows how stupid people can be.

It doesn't..it was a retort to the VS (non)debate in the title. A would-be clash is nullified as games are transferred between both platforms and for everyone who'd "see less reasons to own a ps4" there'll be those who "sees less reasons to bother with a gaming PC". The discussion would be different if things went to PC and nothing came from PC to consoles.

This scenario was somewhat inevitable anyway.. Locking yourself into a platform and only one revenue source without having any contractual obligation to do so is just asking to be counting down the days till your doors get closed. If releasing Neptunia games on PC helps IF keep making new games on PS4/Vita, I'm all for it, 0 reasons to be bothered or want to switch platforms. Better then seeing them close down.

In the long run the distinguishing factors between platforms will mostly consist of self published titles.. And by that I mean console-manufacturer published games (not necessarily first party, see Bloodborne or Scale bound) on consoles, and (partially) Valve/Blizzard(some) + self published Indies on PC.

Though..despite writing this, I do have to give the final plug to PS4 with an easy example. Out of recent announcements, we could make a list of, imagine, 10 games. Now, maybe 4 are console exclusive, 4 are console debuts and 2 are timed exclusives.. What this results in paper:

PC gets 4 of those games. It might get some of the others. Using a concrete example, Nioh could very well get a PC version but I doubt NNK2 will (NX seems like the safe bet).

NX gets 4 or at best 6.

X1 might get between 4 and 6, but possibly even 0.

Ps4 gets all 10. Retains the advantage over the other platforms that regular exclusivity would give it.

I use digital for most of my games

i only get physical for games that include maps like withcer

i like digital ecause i can easily buy the dlc

all triple aaa games get physical releases

i dont care about physical releases

Oh yeah I can agree with that, there is always going to be a side where one doesn't see much of a reason to game on PC or game on a console, we've had that for the longest time and still do, probably alwyas will.

Yeah I think devs if not most are starting to see things that way more or less, locking to a singular one is asking for doom one way or another.

The same kind of happens with PC though when you count for non JRPG type games, some will likely come to Xbox, some on PS4, that gives PC the advantage over the other two for having that sort of ball game going like you said for JRPG's.

Gotta admit I love pieces like this though and laugh at myself on the PC part because the last part has a true sort of ring to it among some PC users =P.
