Forums - Nintendo - Fast Racing NEO review thread : Nintendo Life review is in! - Could be the best reviewed Nintendo game of the year!

Wow, IGN Italy's review was certainly strange: the Reviewer kept complaining about the lack of originality from the game saying that it takes from F-Zero without adding anything new to the formula (and it's kinda true) but then he hinted of beeing an F-Zero fan. In the end the review was good, he pointed out some unquestionable problems such as the lack of vehicle customization, few crossroads and lack of multiplayer friend selection but he also pointed out that the game is extremely cheap at 15€ and that the framerate is just amazing both in singleplayer and local multiplayer with splitscreen...

This is the game that redeems indies in my eyes. More games like this and less crappy 8/16 bit shooters, platformers and rpg's.

Both this and that 90's arcade racer make me think that there could be alot more amazing indie games on the Wii U if it had been embraced.

This is definitly gonna scratch my wipeout and f-zero hitch that Sony and Nintendo don't seem to care about.

So far so good, this game is going to be one of the best indies of the year

I'm definitely going to download this over Christmas.

My only gripe with this game is that it really does look generic. The tracks and the vehicles don't look memorable at all. It's nothing like F-Zero, which has a zany and memorable style to it. The title doesn't help at all either - "Fast Racing Neo" sounds like a crappy app store title.

Well done Shin'en. I was sceptical as to whether this would live up to the things they were saying, but it looks like it has. Looks as good as could be at that price point.
