to expect it to match Super Mario Kart which was on a system with like a 60 million userbase is just unrealistic

the fact Mario Kart Wii U has sold this well is pretty impressive considering the userbase. like 50% of Wii U owners have the game, that's an insane stat

If you include digital, then this suddenly becomes more achievable. I've seen stranger things.

Software sales don't have a direct connection to hardware sales. Mario Kart Wii was more successful than Mario Kart DS, although the DS sold 50 million units more.

If there are 15 million Wii U owners, there are also 15 million potential Mario Kart 8 owners.

But 7m is a joke. Is not even the minimum, is just impossible.

The game has sold (ship+digital) 5.87m by end of September, and has shipped 440k that quarter. It has a bundle with Wii U in both US and EU, and expecially in EU has another bundle with Splatoon.

It will most likely sell double than last quarter, so, probabily 900k or so. By end of THIS YEAR, Mario Kart 8 will be at minimum 6.70m sold.

So, you think it won't sell another 300k in 2016, 2017, and 2018?

Does the launch of a new console mean that the game doesn't sell anymore? Obviously not. Mario Kart Wii still sells.

I can also see a "Nintendo Select" for $24.99 of something like that.

true as well. but if another 3M more? and when MK 9?  I've already mentioned it could if the price would drop $20 or less.
